My xbox got the RROD when i brought it over to a friends house once. It turned on fine but once it got to the COD4 "Press Start" screen, the screen went black and the red came.

One quick restart later, back to normal. Havent had any problems since (knock-on-wood)

I have one and just really quit using it for that reason...It's too god damn unreliable.

Yes. The RROD is frustrating, but from my experience MS' customer support is nothing but awesome. It took less than two weeks from the day I registered my console for service on the website to the day I received a replacement console. The broken console I sent in was actually a used one I bought from eBay, so I was worried there may be issues with the warantee, but no MS delivered.

I was also surprised they sent me a new console rather fix my old one. The unit they sent me was actually barely a week old based on the manufacture date stamped on the rear!
