The frame just hangs there, unable to be processed. Aww crap. I used method 2 btw.
It took me about 9 to 10 minutes for one of the 700MB Top Gear videos. You'll have to try it again, it could be something else running at the time that made it crash. Also are you using verion 1.5.10.1 of VirtualDubMod? You could try the other method but both worked for me. Personally I prefer method 1 as you are creating the wave file directly from the avi file.

hehe princo are pretty low in the quality dept.

that videohelp.com site is great to read about media. And I keep my external on the rack so it doesnt get moved at all, no chance for it to fall either.

yeah, they are rubbish. Now I know images/smilies/tongue.gif

Oh, the portable disk was a laptop one. Really portable. images/smilies/lol.gif I have one of those too. I put a 60GB 7200rpm on mine, and kept the 40GB that came with it on one of those USB cases.
