Default w00t! New speeds from AT&T!

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/3664/speed016ae.png

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/9594/speed021jh.png

My download speeds are the same, but my upload went from 608kbps to 768kbps. I still can't get the full 6016kbps download (too far away from the RT) so I'm getting 4000kbps download speeds.

The great thing is, instead of paying $45/month, I got re-rated from AT&T for $30/month (first 12 months) then $40/month thereafter. So even after my contract expires my DSL is still $5 cheaper per month.

Yeah. I've been off contract for about a year, so it was easy to renew. I even got a new 2Wire modem/router that has Wireless-G for $30 after rebate to replace my 3-year-old and aging Wireless-B model.

It used to be SBC. AFAIK, SBC never gave in to the RIAA or MPAA.

Another speed boost! I got a new 2Wire 2700HG, so maybe my old modem was a POS?

Wiretaps? AT&T just recently acquired SBC (Southwestern Bell) earlier this year, so I'm not worried about anything.

Actually it was the other way around, SBC bought AT&T, and the combined company took AT&T's name. With the merger it's likely most backbones (if not already using ATT lines) will be moved to AT&T owned lines to save operating costs. And the way the federal government is setting the stage, they are going to do whatever they can / want in keeping those spying rooms active on AT&Ts networks.

If anyone has a cable connection, get yourself a Motorola SB5120 modem; it increases speed by 1-2 megs.
