I love it. I got it for a gift, but I think my family paid around $275. I really haven't really had too many problems with it. Its an Eco Drive (solar powered), but it still has a battery in it. They aren't too bad. Its had to go back to Citizen's once to get the system replaced. I had left it out of direct sunlight for too long, and it ended up killing the battery system. Thank god for warranties.

It is a pretty cool system. If you are wearing it with a long sleeve shirt or jacket, the second hand will stop ticking, to conserve energy. Once it gets light again, it "catches" up to were it should be.

My next watch is going to either be a Tag or an Omega. Found the Tag that I want, but haven't found an Omega dealer near me yet.
Yours is a nice one! I've been looking all over the net for a photo of mine but I can't find one! It'd help if I knew the model number but I don't. I'd take a photo myself but it just wouldn't do it justice.

I should mention that I get mine serviced at the specialist dealer every 18 months or so. He cleans it, opens it up and inspects it and fixes/adjusts anything that's in need of it and changes the battery. Last year I had a new seal put in to keep it properly water tight. Over the years i've probably spent more on it than it's worth and I could have just saved up and bought a new one but i've become quite attached to this thing. I know how all the functions work and which buttons to press and when i'm not wearing it I really feel like somethings missing. The only time I take it off is when i'm about to shower.

There are a few that Swiss Army makes that I am interested in. But my friend has one and the bezel (the area around the face) seems to get scratched easily. Since I plan on wearing it quite often, I don't want it to look worn out after just a few weeks.

Hi
I'm a big fan of Diver watches (planet ocean, sub, superocean, TT1; aquatimer)
I would invest a bit more and take an Automatic (in the 200-300 RANGE)
in your price range something from HAmilton or Stowa or Oris (as a first automatic these are good watches to beginn with)

MAURICE LACROIX I like this one but a bit pricey
http://www.orolus.com/images/maurice-lacroix/PT6088-SS001-330.jpg

And since I'm working for Mercedes , the MB watches are in your price range and although in quartz are quite classy , check the mercedes benz shop

I'd get a seiko for $200, it looks good plus it'll be strong. you can find one on ebay for 200 or in amazon for 230.

Wow, I had no idea so many people had ever heard of Maurice Lacroix. When I got mine they were still a small company no one had ever heard of outside the industry.

Yea I can see a few tiny scratches, but nothing to complain about. A local jewelry store is offering something like 20% off all their watches and they always try to get the best deal. They carry a wide selection of Swiss Army, so that's the route I think I'll end up taking.

Well, I have been wearing that for almost a year now, so it will probably show a bit of wear.

Are you sure no digital? It can be geek-chic so long as you pick the right one. And yes, although no watch should ever have a calculator, there are some pretty cool digitals out there.

I tried doing that for a while, but I found it hard to hold the back of my wrist up to my ear when I got a call.

Speaking of digital watches that should never have calculators on them, two of my friends have a watch very similar to this one:

This one's mine. Got it 10 days before this thread was made, wanted it for about a year longer than that. Jacobfox: ever handled one of these?

Also: Thread necrophelia is the new black!
