Default windows media player problem

does anyone else encounter this problem that when playing some files like topgear you cannot move the progress bar down the bottom to where you want, in other words if you want to watch something at the 59th minute you have to play the file for 59 minutes. now it only started doing this about a month ago and never ever used to do it. i am also using media player 10 and i have no idea why some files do and some dont , please help me cos i cant watch topgear until i fix it images/smilies/sad.gif

This used to happen to me with files that did not download properly, and would only happen to .wmv files. It's to do with the encoding of the file.

It could possibly be a codec problem or a WM10 problem, not sure. Check what codecs are running with G-Spot for those which you can't skip through.
