Ban Rules & Forum Behavior [Oct 2006]

For the last few weeks, here at FinalGear forums, as members you might have noticed, a few familiar names being banned, either temporarily or permanently. These ban decisions are never taken on an individual basis by mods or admins, but as such is a collective decision by those who have been tasked with keeping the forums at a much higher level of decorum than it has seen for some time now. As a direct result we feel we should make a proper announcement about what the changes (in rules) are in terms of what we think members of this forum should follow. Viper had made clear very early on what rules need to be followed, it appears though that no attention has been made to this. So the rules are getting stricter.

In violation of any of the rules, mentioned in the thread linked above, we shall follow the system detailed below. As far as arguing with mods, or complaining you were not fairly treated, don't bother.

This is not a democracy, especially when the well fare and conduct of this forum goes, that's what mods/admins are for. We try to be fair and give everyone a chance, but alot of you seem to take that to mean we won't do anything.

New Warning System:

Offence 1: Mod PM's user with clear instructions of violation.
Offence 2: Temporary Ban, 1 week.
If during Temporary Ban, the user creates any new accounts, a Permanent Ban will be put in place.
Offence 3: Permanent Ban.

You have also noticed the increase in spam threads, instead of wasting your time and just replying to these threads, join chat (it takes afew seconds) and pm or mention it to a Mod/Admin, there's always someone around.

Flaming other members:

Viper clearly stated in the Rules thread:

No flaming: I don't care how much of an idiot you think someone is, they have a right to their opinion. This applies to even those people who think F1 is better than WRC.

Some of you just don't get it, and some of you have been banned for a short while as a result. Were not going to take this issue lightly anymore, treat other members properly and we won't have any problems, step out of line and we'll take appropriate action.
