Default how does the 'posts since last visit' cookie work?

I'm currently using two computers, one at home and one where I go to university...

How does the 'view posts since last visit' work? Probably with cookies, no?

So, is there a difference in not viewed posts when I switch to my other computer when I get home?

I hope you get what I want to say images/smilies/smile.gif

It works everywhere. I've read this forum in library, on my mum's and friend's computers, etc., so it doesn't work with cookies.

I've never thought about how it works, but no I got interested.

It's the forum software which tells what topics you have already read. Nothing to do with cookies.

Sometimes I get the list. And when I read one topic and go back to the list, it's empty.

It will show you the posts since you last closed your browser while visiting the site, or it should at least.

... I ask Herb Helbig, vehicle synthesis manager for SRT and a member of the original Team Viper development group since day one, if they'd ever thought of adding traction control. "It comes with two," he says, pointing at my feet. "Learn to use them." Got it.

Yeah, ordering the last 48 or 24 hours posts would be great. Sometimes my connection goes bunkers, or I can't see all posts at the time, and I lose all that information. I guess this would be easier than choosing the time since we want to see the posts...
