Hi all ! I'm new here, as you can see.
Well, here's some things about me: I'm a student from finland, at the moment i live with my parents. I haven't got a car yet, but my dad has got a 89 Firebird Formula at the moment as a project, it has got a 5-liter LB9 V8 pushing out 230Hp stock, not much, but enough for some people. During this year we've had numerous vehicles from a single turbo Mk2 supra to a 2004 Vectra. I was introduced to this site by my friend who is also a user here (difica). My English isn't perfect, but i sure hope that you guys undestand what i'm talking about

Howdy!
long time listener first time caller... or rather long time reader first time poster. Have been hitting the site for years and finally with TGA thought I'd make an account to throw in my 2 cents about a couple of the shows. Many thanks to viper bond and the others over the years who have made this site they great thing it is today! Oh and happy xmas and NYE to all. Cheers, ACR |

Hello everybody,
I'm brand new to the forums. Seems like a nice place to be so far! Alot more user options than many forums I've seen. I've had an unhealthy obsession with TopGear for many years now . I've accumulated about every epiosde from late 1989 up until last Sundays, many of which I have this site/Viper to thank for that. I've been on the site since around 2005 I'd say, but never checked out the forums. Merry Christmas + Happy Holidays, everyone, Rob

Hello everyone.
I'm a newbie to the site. I was turned onto it by a friend at work when I mentioned how much I loved the show TopGear. This is pretty much my new favorite site. About me: Anyway, I'm 34 male in Tulsa, Oklahoma, US....that's tornado territory. I have a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma University and work as an IT guy. I love computers, video games, technological stuff and of course, cars. About my cars: I'm not rolling in the dough so I drive nothing fancy and have absolutely ZERO experience with any vehicles that aren't American or Japanese-Imports, and as you might have gathered from my username, my favorite car that I own is my 1994 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD. I do own several vehicles; each with its own purpose....and here they are: 1991 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD: This was my first turbocharged car. I bought it from some random dude who had slapped a "big 16g" turbo on a stock motor/manifold. By the time I purchased it, the timing belt had broken and crushed all the valves. But it has leather interior and all the options and was in great condition otherwise and he wanted $800 so...I bought it. That was 4 years ago and since then, the power steering box took a dump so its sitting in a field at the moment. 1996 Saturn SL2: My drive to work is approximately 14 miles each direction and with gas (petrol) costs lately, this car is perfect...especially since my aunt gave it to me for $0 because she needed the room in her garage for her new vehicle. This thing is 13 years old and it looks and smells brand-new. She kept it in the garage every day the entire time she had it and in fact, i just put mile number 100,000 on it last week! 1991 Plymouth Laser RS: Nope. Its not turbo and its FWD. But before I was given the Saturn, this was my daily driver. In fact, its prettty much a beater. Paint is crap, engine needs work, has a small oil leak. But the interior is like brand new. Plus I only paid about $400 2 years ago. Right now, its in the hands of a Kenyan girl who couldn't even figure out how to work the flip-up headlights (my girlfriend) because her car blew up a couple months ago. 2005 GMC Envoy: Just the basic model. V-6 motor, 285HP, 2WD basic power options but this is my comfort-ride / shopping vehicle. Its a pretty vehicle, but its big and is gas-thirsty so I only use it if Im going out with my fiends or if Im doing my weekly grocery shopping. 1996 Ford F150 FlareSide: All of you non-North Americans, don't be fooled by the word 'FlareSide" it sounds cool and all, but what it REALLY means is that the bit of the body just behind the doors is flared IN to create a kind of step for you to step-up onto whilst loading things into the back. Then at the rear wheel-well, it flares OUT again for clearance purposes...then lastly, flares back in towards the tailgate. Its basically like a Chevy step-side pickup only worse. It actually takes away cargo space in the bed but I inherited this pickup from a family member who passed away. Other than the automatic transmission and air-con, its the most basic model Ford made. It even has the rubber floor instead of carpet. I rarely drive this and when I do, its to haul car motors or dirty parts that I wouldn't want to put in the Envoy. 1994 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD 2.3L stroker: Like most American guys who have to spend most of their meager earnings on living, I've been rebuilding this car for nearly 2 years with the help of a friend who owns a shop. Its a blend of parts that are new, used, rebuilt, modified, stolen, completely hand-madeto-fit or just stuff from other cars. It's destiny does not lie in tracks, but in straight-line speed. (How very American of me, I know.) As a result, I have decided that I won't need any full-race brakes or suspension. They HAVE been replaced with sport upgrades, but I can't justify the cost of giant brakes and super-adjustable suspension just to drag-race and mess around with my buddies on the streets. This car is currently completely torn-down as we've had some trouble locating a few replacement parts that I refuse to replace with used bits. The backstory on this is pretty similar to the 91 Talon. I bought it from a guy who blew the motor, only this one had already been removed, so I bought it (minus one motor) for $500. I replaced the motor with a 7-bolt Mistubishi motor (learned my lesson) and pretty much killed it in a matter of months. I got ahold of another 6-bolt motor and we have broken down every part of the car: Engine, transmission, suspension, interior and even the body panels. As of today's date, the body is put back together and the suspension is 90% complete. The engine is pretty much put together and ready to go as is the transmission. We're just waiting on some front brake calipers and a few little bits that need replacing that we're either making by hand, or having to order. Anyway, I look forward to many more posts!!
