Default Is there a reason there is no F1 sticky in Motorsports section?

I have noticed that there is a v8 supercars and WRC sticky but no F1. Any particular reason?

Because there are 51 bazillion other f1 topics in the forum and we don't feel like cleaning it up right now.

We had one centralised F1 thread but it seemed members wanted to make individual threads for each round - fair enough. No harm done...

Well, can i make a suggestion? How about make a F1 thread similar to Top Gear thread and Fifth Gear thread. I know that there is a Motorsport thread but, come on, F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport. It should get its own thread. Pretty please! Guy! Back me on this. Then inside the thread there is sub-thread such as example 2007 Australian GP practise thread, then 2007 Australian GP Qualification thread, and of course 2007 Australian GP race thread. Please, pretty please. If Viper is the lazy head dude, then why don't appoint someone to manage that F1 thread? Please SL65, please, you are the super duper moderator here. Please, i'm not kissing your arse here but i really do love Australia. I love your Koala bears and Monash. Please, pretty please. F1 fans, please back me up.

I think what would be better is if we had this thread - http://forums.finalgear.com/formula-1/2007-formula-1-season-17659/ stickied, so during the season all F1 news could be discussed in there but for each round we just start a new thread and discuss everything from that round (practice, qualifying, race etc.) in there.

Of course at the end of the season or year, the 2007 F1 Thread (link up there) would be unstickied and a new 2008 thread would be made and stickied and so on...

We have a note on the top of the 2007 F1 thread saying that it is for general discussion and that F1 races will have their own thread though.

A Formula One sub-forum in the Motorsports section would be nice. It makes more sense than stickying the 2007 season thread.

I'd like to see that! However...

I'll put my weight behind Devon's suggestion though, which I think is a good idea. Please mods? images/smilies/smile.gif

11 of the first 14 threads are F1 related, so the idea definately has merit.

We don't need a thread like Top Gear or Fifth Gear do, but having Formula 1 Sticky would be nice. It is the biggest annual sporting event in the world remember.

I'm not opposed to making sub-forums in the Motorsports forum if there's enough threads to warrant it.

Normal threads would be made for each race seperately.

There is obviously a strong case for this, Mods.

Damn, I shoulda made a sub-forum long ago. I hadn't realized just how many threads there were there on F1 (I moved all the ones I saw to the new section).

While I'm at it, think there are any other sub-forums I should make?
