I'm for it being made at 9pm GMT, for 2 reasons:

1.It will stop the last page or so of pre-discussion being the sort of post that belongs in specific episode discussion

2.If you dont want spoilers (i.e. if you didn't watch it 'live') you can stay away from the specific discussion thread, and in the pre-discussion thread, which will now be spoiler free since the people that have seen it will be discussing it in the specific discussion thread.

Good idea all-round.

I think the threads should be opened when/after the episode airs. After all, the section is for _episode discussion_ and so regardless of when the threads are opened, spoilers will occur. If you don't want to read about what happens during the episode (i.e. don't want to spoil it for yourself) simply don't read it - as others have said.

I can see why people want to wait until the torrent has been released; a part of the episode may be discussed on page one of the discussion thread but by the time you get to read the thread it's six pages long and that post you wanted to reply to is now really old...

Anyway, living in UK and watching it on TV whenever I can, I voted to open the thread when the ep airs. After all, since the torrents disappeared from this website, it became a discussion website instead so we should be allowed to discuss irrespective of when the torrents are made available.
Along with that, as this site is no longer linked to the torrents themselves, talk of download progress/speeds is pointless, and quite frankly annoying.

Just my opinion.

It seems everyone wants to talk about it rather sooner than later, but what I don't understand is how 36% (atm) wants to bother us with their dl speeds crappy posts. There's a forum section called Problems. If I want to know about your problems, and (maybe) help you out, I'll go read it, and if you're a nice guy and have read other similar problems to see if your problem has already been covered, you might get lucky. If not, I shouldn't be forced to see it when all I'm trying to read is episodes details.

I thought the same thing after looking at the poll. What is it about dl speeds that makes it intertesting to discuss. Can anyone explain it to me ? I don't get it at all. My guess would be that people voted for general dl talk. Problems with the torrent etc. for example.

I don't have many issues in someone posting some problems, but after you get the torrent, problems belong on the Problems area. Just my pov.

I think maybe we could ask viper, to make the new thread, when the show is over; and keep pre ep discussion open till the 350MB version is released. We did that once, I mean having the two threads open at the same time. And the 'signal' for the new ep being released can be the pre ep thread being locked.

Oh and I shall mention that this board is in no way democratic, so don't think it'll be like that for sure, but Viper's soft side will probably make it like that...

Thats garbage, why should we have to wait until after it has been released online, when most of Western Europe gets it on TV?? (and twice aswell since its repeated on Tuesdays)

I missed it last Sunday, came on here Monday afternoon, didnt read the thread discussing the episode, then watched the repeat on Tuesday and THEN visited the discussion thread. Its not hard to do is it?? And since the thread is titled 'episode discussion' its not hard to ignore it until you have seen the episode in question. And since at the end they dont say 'Coming up next week.....' anymore you dont have much of an idea what will be shown. And the TV listings only show the highpoints ie what new cars are tested, who the celebrity guest is,a hint of what stunt is to be done etc

Bottom Line there is no flashing neon sigh saying you have to read any thread posted here

I think as the site is mainly for folks that have to get their fix by "other methods" then we should not have spoilers or discussions till the torrent appears. I'm UK based and I work Sundays so I choose to download the episode and watch it later. I could record it or capture it myself but hey thats to legal for me images/smilies/twisted.gif

You only read the spoilers if you want, but I respect your opinion. Just a thought, though: Do we have to wait till everybody downloads it? And sees it? images/smilies/wink.gif

my guess people arn't reading past the first part about when a new thread should be started and just clicking the first one

and i am going to have to go with overheat on this one... open the thread when the new ep airs if you don't want spoilers then don't go to that thread and maybe lock the pre-ep discussion thread once the torrent is out so those of us that have to wait can keep talking about it if we want + once the thread is locked it will alert us that the torrent is out

And you can keep the Pre-Episode open for the problems. If you're having problems, it's pre-episode, not episode... images/smilies/mrgreen.gif

Hmm, I'm thinking "When ep airs (No Download discussion allowed)". Download discussion shouldn't really be allowed anyway, at least for TG.

As for making/unlocking the thread when it airs, I have enough on my plate and don't want to have to do it at a certain time. Someone else will need to take care of that if you ugys want it done. images/smilies/wink.gif

I'll do it, I'll make a new thread when the ep airs and then Viper can lock the pre-ep discussion when the 350MB version has been released on the Internet. images/smilies/smile.gif

For the first few times I'll go ahead and put a warning for people who don't know what's going on, then it'll become routine...

Is that ok Viper? images/smilies/smile.gif

I'll do it Cruzz, I'm there on sundays (well most of them) and I have permissions already.

If I'm not there, I guess Viper can do it like he used to, but I'll try to do it most of the time.
