Nudity: should it be allowed here?

EDIT: At this point, it's looking like the solution is to make an 18+ forum section which will be the only place where nudity (not porn) is allowed. This forum section would require joining a public usergroup to be able to view it.

Alok's thread got me thinking again about my no-nudity rule again and whether it should it exist or not.

Personally I don't really care one way or the other, although I am leaning a bit towards "is it really needed here?".

What are you thoughts on it?

True. But someone from the outside might complain. This way, if they don't have an account and aren't approved by the admin, they can't see it to complain.

A major pain in the ass to manually approve.

An alternative to that would be a forum section people could see but not view. To view it, you'd have to join a public usergroup and by joining it, you'd be agreeing that you were over the age of 18.

That's probably the solution I'll be going with to be honest.

Yeah, I have no problem with tasteful boobs, but we need a finite line (or lack thereof) so there's no confusion.

I'm thinking an 18+ "anything goes" and join-a-group-to-view forum section would probably be the best solution.

We thought about this on one of the other forums I was administering...

In the end, it came down to "Why bother?"

It's more trouble than its worth, IMO. Besides, if you want to see nudity, there isn't exactly a shortage of other sites for you to choose from.

Voted "No, this isn't the place for nudity".

My suggestion would be, that we could have an NSFW tag, which works the same way as the spoiler tag except the guests cannot see it at all... I think the registed forum users know whether to click on one or not.

I think this forum would be significantly less entertaining without the threads that contain nudity. As long as said threads are NSFW-tagged (and probably spoilered) and keep it north of the equator, I don't see a problem.
