If the concern is minors seeing a boob (in which case GIS is their best friend), then just let registered users who have put their birthdays in see those thread. Put them in a restricted sub-forum or something. If the concern is pollution of the board, I don't really see that as being a problem. I don't want to see the board flooded with a bunch of hardcore porn or anything, but I don't see why artistic nude photos are a problem.

I know it's a fine line, but I think that most the members can walk it without incident. Those who can't are probably thick enough to cause trouble elsewhere on the boards. Maybe tie access to the "Members Only" section to how long one has been a member on the board.

I'm all for it, at least if it wasn't tasteless (i.e. not turn this place into a porn site).

I personally don't care for the "18+ section" as that will just mean it's going to turn into a bunch of people posting up pics that can be easily found on GIS.

I'd prefer an NSFW tag or something along those lines. And a zero tolerance policy on anyone not using it when posting NSFW material

I'm going to vote "no" because my concern is that it can get out of hand, and there's no real upside to it.

Let people reference flickr or other photo galleries, great, but why bother here?

err... I dont see a problem with a low level of nudity, so to speak. Porn = no no on here, imo - there are plenty of sites out there for that. Im all for an 18+ section but only as long as it doesnt turn into a mini porn site (ie it would have to be moderated pretty damn well and pretty damn often)

It depends whose nudity it is? There is good nudity and bad nudity. There is a huge difference nudity and pr0n. I don't want to see some woman chowing down on something. A lovely set of titties never hurt someone, there was a period of time when most of us were connected to a nipple. There is nothing dirty about a it. Why do people think there is.

It think there is a difference between topless and nudity. Nudity consists of female genitalia. Toplessness, I would consider welcome with the appropriate warning. Not totally sure about the relevance of genitalia to cars but can see the relevance of a nice set of breasts. There are dedicated forums to nudity.

This is a Top Gear/Fifth Gear fan site and forum, not thehun.net* or something. Put a clause upon registering that explains what "NSFW" stands for, and make it a thread tag and mandatory spoiler tags for all pictures within. Anybody that posts hardcore porn will be banned, period.

Separate subforum? No under-18 signups? VIP Member's Only section? What is this, a seedy truck stop strip club or something? I don't expect Lemans_GTR's parents to get up in a tizzy if he accidentally clicks on Alok's thread for some photographic art. It slips in threads here or there, but it shouldn't consume the entire site.

I check the forums at work though, so something that was kept it in its own section (rather than several threads in multiple sections that are frequently viewed) would be very nice. If it can't be done then labels and spoiler tags are fine too.

On the other hand, I dare to ask the question if we need a subforum for it. I mean, there are literally thousands of websites where you can view titty. I certainly hope it will not lower the quality level of this forum.

Per my experience as admin on RKC (~12k members), it changes things significantly. First off, you run the risk of people taking advantage of it. As things sit now, everyone knows its not allowed and behaves accordingly.

You have to understand that the whole "give someone an inch and they'll take a mile" saying is ABSOLUTELY true. Open it up to "tasteful" nude pics and you now have to deal with 24,888 different definitions of what "tasteful" means.

If you allow the membership to post nudes and then in the future decide it was a mistake, you'll have god-knows-how-many people up in arms because their "rights" have been removed. The human tendency is to view anything they've been able to do in the past as a "right". The removal of which would absolutely cause a shit-storm (trust me on this, we banned waist-down nudity on RKC and got a month of hell in return).

A friend of mine recently asked me to start and administrate a forum for our charity drag racing league. We're small (less than 100 members and 2k posts), but we kept tight reigns on it from get-go. No nudity, no profanity, no drama, etc. Thusfar we have yet to be put into the position where we would need to take disciplinary action. Not a single ban, warning, thread deletion, etc. On RKC, where the rules were a little looser, we were deleting ~20+ posts per 1k posted and typically handing out at least one ban per day.

If you want to do it, go for it. Just be careful. Personally, I strongly advise you and the rest of Final Gear's staff against opening that can of worms in the first place.
