| I'm sure there will be a thread somewhere along these lines, and it probably should come under a different heading, but as I only really pay attention to the TG thread I figured what the phuq, post it here. I've only been a member for a short while, but have found this to be a genuinely interesting and friendly community. In my scant few weeks of membership I have been flattered by those who have found my contribution worthy of positive rep points, and have accepted with good grace the negatives. My only frustration is that often those who do leave comments do not identify themselves. I am polite person by nature and was brought up to say "Thank You" to compliments, and also to acknowledge constructive criticism if it is delivered in the right manner. Please, if you do add or detract from my or anyone else's reputation, be humble/brave enough to identify yourself. I'm not talking about points scoring or rep wars, but I personally would like to have the chance to send a quick PM to say thanks if nothing else. There's enough aggro and bad manners in the world after all...... Now where's my bag of organic Peace Crisps?

| Oh I didn't know you were suppose to leave your name. I've only handed out random + rep like to Viper (who obviously needs it ) for being from Rip City too. It honestly never crossed my mind to put my name on it. | |

| I think most if not all of the regulars attach their names to rep messages, be they good or bad. But yes, this should be brought to the attention of our members who don't visit the forums as often that it's just polite to leave a note with your name if you praise or criticize. If anything, it gets people talking and understanding each other's reasons for either good words or bad. Feedback can only go so far without knowing who gave you that feedback; you can't even ask for details. | |

| I always sign them. Either with jake or jacobfox. I don't necessarily sign neg reps, but those only are doled out for trolling asshats.

also, I don't think i've ever given anyone neg rep. Yet. But if I do, I want them to know who's doing it and for what reason. I did receive some neg rep without a name, but since the person who did it speaks my native language (Dutch) that narrows down the possibilities... anyways, i'm all in favor of mandatory names in + or -reps | ||

Something you should do is mention your name for a neg rep that is a valid one, not for 'FAIL' or something |

| old porsches do run! | You know, I was strongly against this reputation feature from the beginning and didn't give any rep either way out of principle. But this thread got me thinking, I'm really only against indicating your rep. Leaving personal comments on individual messages (anonymous or not) is a good thing, and if it didn't produce those green blobs I'd be all for it. |

| You know you want me.. | Not sure what user options viper has enabled, but there might be an option to hide your displayed rep under UserCP->Edit Options "Your current reputation level is displayed to other users whenever you post a message. If you would like to hide your reputation, disable this option." |
