Woo hoo! I got the forum to accept the full URL now inside of [you tube] and [g video] (no spaces) tags! images/smilies/biggrin.gif

In action:

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

Code:
[you tube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VOYF4jVo-Q&eurl=[/YOUTUBE]
What I did just just hooked in before the BBCode parser ran and replaced the full URL version with the standard, ID only version. images/smilies/biggrin.gif

PHP Code:
$viper_patterns = array(

'#\[INVALIDYOUTUBE\]http://www.youtube.com/watch\?v=(.*?)&(.*?)\[/youtube\]#si',

'#\[INVALIDYOUTUBE\]http://www.youtube.com/watch\?v=(.*?)\[/youtube\]#si',

'#\[INVALIDGVIDEO\]http://video.google.com/videoplay\?docid=(.*?)&(.*?)\[/gvideo\]#si',

'#\[INVALIDGVIDEO\]http://video.google.com/videoplay\?docid=(.*?)\[/gvideo\]#si',
);

$viper_replacements = array(

'[INVALIDYOUTUBE]$1[/INVALIDYOUTUBE]',

'[INVALIDYOUTUBE]$1[/INVALIDYOUTUBE]',

'[INVALIDGVIDEO]$1[/INVALIDGVIDEO]',

'[INVALIDGVIDEO]$1[/INVALIDGVIDEO]',
);

$text preg_replace($viper_patterns$viper_replacements$text);
Woot. images/smilies/happy.gif

^Excellent! That'll make it easier for newer members (and me) of the forum who just assume they can post the entire link inside the tags.

Wow, amazed this hasn't been swarmed with replies and it's been almost a year now. O_O

how about [justify], for css align: justify; since you have left, centre and right already.

Or maybe... [flash], so people can embed flash games or webcam feeds of fat people in their underwear. Or would that pose too much a security risk?

Can't really think of any others now, i'll sleep on it and come back with more.

God no. You really want idiots putting in Flash that auto-plays sound and music? Pass.

How about an FLV/MP3 player?
[mp3] mp3 url = http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net/ ( would make the "what's that song" threads easier )
[FLV] the flash-video script that plays any FLV linked to (manually specify resolution). http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=Flash_video_Player

Yeah, that's the script I already use on the front page in the news.

Few people however probably even know what a FLV file is let alone use it. Seems like a very limited demand. Plus, standard BBCode can't handle more than one parameter. I'd have to write a bigass plugin like I did for [YOUTUBE] and [GVIDEO].

Meh.
