Thread Icons

I'm tempted to remove the thread/post icons. Seeing

next to half the threads is kinda annoying. images/smilies/wacko.gif

Any objections? Hmm.

I'm all for. They look like crap and don't have any added value. At least i ignore them.

Sometimes they can be useful such as if you need quick replies or something, but it generally just gets abused by people who come to rant and talk about Top Gear when it's on air.

Get rid of them if you want.

No objections... But what about when the thread needs urgent attention? Any remedy to that if the icons are removed?

I don't think I'd ever have a reason to use them. Maybe make them and admin/mod only feature so you can denote things like readme threads and important announcements?

And turns out I can make them permissions based, so admins/mods can still use them.
