EDIT: Sctratch that, Daihatsu Charade, replaced by the smaller Sirion/Storia in 2000, exactly 23 years after it debuted in 1977.

1. This vehicle had rust problems due to a design flaw that was not resolved until a complete redesign after 22 years of production.

2. Like the Charade, the current version is smaller than the original.

I'm kinda new to this, so help with the timing of more specific hints would be appreciated.

Nope, Nova is no longer in production (at least not here in the States). I should specify that it the name has slightly changed over the years.

No, not the Charger, which to my knowledge was never convertible.

I noticed this rule hasn't been utilised much (from TC's first post): "Participants/guessers can ask anything they want, be they yes-or-no questions or what-have-you."

Also note that I reworded the third clue a bit to make it more specific.
