Not quite true - dolphins do, but bonobos have sex as a social activity. If they see something new, if they're angry with each other, if they want to make amends... whatever it is, they pretty much have sex, but it's not recreational.

Actually, Snopes agrees with both of us:

So for that specific definition, yes, you're right, but I don't think I'm alone in interpreting sex as a social tool (as in the case of bonobos) as neither sex for pleasure nor fertilisation.

i.e. Your first post somewhat assumes that people will immediately associate 'sex for pleasure' with the Snopes definition, and I doubt that. I obviously didn't, and I thought I'd clarify, considering this is supposed to be a 'facts' thread, which implies that the information within is supposed to be accurate.
