Default Azureus Torrent RSS Feed Guide

Okay, first off, I can't actually test this as I already have all of the torrents in my client, so you'll have to let me know if this doesn't work. images/smilies/wink.gif

If you don't have the plugin installed:
  1. Plugins -> Installation Wizard...
  2. By list from sourceforge.net
  3. RSSFeed Scanner
Once you have it installed:
  1. Plugins -> RSSFeed
  2. Options and then click the top + to add a new feed:
    1. Pick a name for it. "FinalGear" will do.
    2. For URL, enter this: http://feeds.feedburner.com/finalgeartorrents (Azureus doesn't like using the FinalGear.com URL as it's a redirect)
    3. Uncheck the "Use URL as Referer for Torrents" box and leave the "Custom Referer" field empty. Mininova won't let us download if we send a non Mininova.org referer.
    4. Tick the "Enabled" box.
  3. Click the bottom + to add a new filter:
    1. Pick a name for the filter. It doesn't matter what it is.
    2. For Filter, put in "gear" if you want all both shows, "Fifth.Gear" if you want just Fifth Gear (WTF?), or "Top.Gear" if you want just Top Gear.
    3. Pick the feed you just made from the "Feed" dropdown.
    4. Tick the "Enabled" box.
  4. Click the "Status" tab and then right-click the feed you just made. Select "Refresh Feed" (this is just to manually force a refresh). The matching torrents should now start downloading.
That's it! Episodes matching your filter will now be automatically be download.

For more details and help, see the "Help" tab in this plugin. images/smilies/smile.gif

Hi just wondering about the filters in Azereus if u have the tvshow, with the episode/season and smart history selected ? As I can't seem to get that to work with your feed ? Using mininova it works fine!

Thx.

mmm.... nope doesn't work either, weird !

the only trouble with putting 0's in is that it will pick up all Top Gear episodes, even re-posts, and I already have quite a few ! Really only want the latest episodes.

Add this to the "Test match" box and click "Test": Top.Gear.S08.E06.PDTV.XviD

It'll turn green if it's a match.

Nope, doesn't work. (RED) images/smilies/mad.gif

BUT.... if i remove the dot between the S08E06 it works. images/smilies/tongue.gif

so i think the file names need to change from Top.Gear.S08.E06 PDTV.XviD to Top.Gear.S08E06 PDTV.XviD is this possible ? Also the same with the Fifth Gear episodes !

This is from the Azureus RSSFeed scanner plugin help file :
This plugin can recognize most of the common formats like:
s1e01, 1x01, s01e01-02, 01x01-02, 01x01-01x02, 01x01+02

Not working :
http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/3479/doesntworknv0.jpg

And with the dot removed, it will work :
http://img464.imageshack.us/img464/9886/worksnv3.jpg

Thanks.

Yeah, but Azureus doesn't, at least not at the time I wrote that guide. images/smilies/sad.gif

Are there any Mac users around? I'm using Azureus on a Mac, and tried the RSS Feed. I got the plugin installed, configured the Feed and the Filter so that the Status Tab shows all the episodes from the current season of Top Gear and the last season of Fifth Gear. I tested the filter for Top Gear and it showed green like it should. images/smilies/cool.gif

But for some reason, the newest episode woudn't start downloading. After trying different options for some time it still wouldn't start, so I got the 11x04 the old fashioned way. Is there something I have over-looked, or should the Feed start downloading (or atleast moving the files to queue) automatically, when it finds the correct RSS feed and the filter finds the files I want? images/smilies/blink.gif

Edit: It's working now. Restarting Azureus seems have done the trick. images/smilies/biggrin.gif
