Anyone know of any others?

| FG's Highest Paid Male Whore | I got bored so I signed up and grabbed myself Jabba's version yesterday. The size is obviously out of whack, but despite that, the quality seems quite good. But I think the Scene might still come through, it's only been a day and a half. You probably know better, but haven't they sometimes released them up to a few days later? |

Well, I possibly take that back. Fifth Gear may reair too, dunno. Fifth Gear does have the meat up the episode on their site though: http://fifthgear.five.tv/jsp/5gmain....s=14&episode=3 Maybe it's worth directing people there and then seeing what the Scene does. If they don't come up with anything, then we can use a fan rip.

| FG's Highest Paid Male Whore | Let me clarify, I didn't say you should use Jabba's rip... just stating that that's what I saw and it looked fine. I would personally prefer to have a uniform 350mb rip for archival purposes, especially if it's from the same source as the other rips. |

I think I'm just gonna link to Fifth Gear's website for now and give the Scene until Monday to put out a rip. If no rip by then, we'll address this again.

Car: 1998 Subaru Legacy 2.5L Rep Power: 39 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It'll re-air this Sunday at 10:50am ![]() Source I think Fifth Gear is popular enough for The Scene to catch the re-air. Hopefully The Scene thinks so too. Give until Monday for a Scene release. Otherwise, look elsewhere. Just don't look in Jabba's direction. Not worth opening that can of worms... |

| I have a copy on my PVR. If someone can guide me through encoding it from a .ts stream and then uploading. I would be all too happy to help. Edit: I can't get the USB connection to work from my PVR to my computer so I'm going to have to pass.

| FG's Highest Paid Male Whore | Can we maybe turn Jabba's rip into a normal 350mb rip? How would he find out? He took all that intro crap out finally. ![]() |

| Gulf Livery Rules | Hmm... a 500 mb rip is already quite compressed. I can give it a shot, though. |

As for Jabba, I doubt he'd be opposed as long as I asked and gave credit (from my interactions with him, he seems like a decent enough guy overall), but I'd rather not deal with everyone else on his site. *goes to post a link to Fifth Gear's website*

Car: 2005 Toyota Rav4 :-/ (Mom's) Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Well, I went to motorworld.net and signed up so I could actually download the rip, as the ones listed on Mininova don't worry because the tracker is private. They have 2 rips for the 14x03 episode, one in Xvid and one in x264. I didn't get the Xvid one because I've found x264 rips are generally better, and I gotta say, the quality is pretty damn good. I mean, I dunno if the scene rip will be much better, but at 556MB, I feel like they packed sufficient quality in there, at least for me. I dunno if people are watching this on big TV's, but on my 15.4" 1440 by 900 laptop screen, looks just fine and on par with the scene releases for episodes 1 and 2 that were ~350MB. Hope this helps. ![]() Edit: I guess this is the Jabba rip as the uploader is Jabba , and the size didn't seem very off, it's actually bigger resolution that the River rips and it seems to be just about the same ratio. Also, this is about the x264 rip, I dunno if the Xvid one's size is different.Last edited by Aiolos; August 27th, 2008 at 03:33 PM.. |

The 350MB rips are fine for Fifth Gear, though...

| Gulf Livery Rules | 350 MB is standard for a 45 minute show, which Fifth Gear is. Seeing as there is not much detail (neither being HD or animation), XviD is suitable. x264 only comes into its own with very high detail 720p or 1080p rips. |

For the record, most of the "morons" left the site when we changed to being Motorworld, remaining morons can be banned if they cause any trouble though ![]() I take onboard what you say about the 350MB version, we usually use the "scene" versions as well now, and just stick to encoding our own x264 version (for people wanting to play them on their consoles) so this was just done to help the xvid fans out. I will do another 350MB version though, and add it to our tracker for the folks that like the smaller size rips. Last edited by Motorworld; August 27th, 2008 at 09:29 PM.. | |
