Default need help? (encoding/hosting etc...)

Hey

First of, HI images/smilies/smile.gif

I'm a big fan of TG and FG and even more so of this wonderfull site! So I was wondering if I could help you guys out a bit! Not sure if you need help but I thought it just might offer you some, just in case ...

I have a hosting acount that comes with a 2100 GB/month Transfer and my sites only use a couple of gigs a month (at the moment).

So, if you ever need another (free) host for this site, just let me know (it's has msql, php, perl, the works)...

I also record every episode on my Digital Recorder (Telenet Digital TV, Belgium) and I am able to burn that on dvd (has some minor loss in quality but it's still good) and encode that into something else (divx, xvid, mp3, mov, ...) on my computer. I'll have to do some tests to see if the quality is any good ...

But living in Belgium also has some downsides ... i have a limited amount of data i can upload (5gb a month) so seeding it as a torrent might be a problem...

Our static servers have 6TB/mo of bandwidth combined, so we're set. But thanks. images/smilies/wink.gif

What about setting up a FTP or HTTP file sharing place and post it in the video offers area? We can always use more of those. images/smilies/smile.gif

... I ask Herb Helbig, vehicle synthesis manager for SRT and a member of the original Team Viper development group since day one, if they'd ever thought of adding traction control. "It comes with two," he says, pointing at my feet. "Learn to use them." Got it.

Well, just check out the current FTPs for examples: http://forums.finalgear.com/showthread.php?t=4574

If you have a box where you can setup special FTP permissions (i.e. like read-only on most/all directories), then that'd be the way to go. Just put some files on there or make an "uploads" folder for people to upload to and you're set.

Otherwise I'd just throw some files (perhaps the latest TG episode(s)?) up on your site and link to them via HTTP. For example, like these people do: http://forums.finalgear.com/showthread.php?t=16394
