| Hey! This Thread is just an attempt to raise some awareness in the fact that most of the people who download the torrent for the new episodes aren't really sharing them or "leeching them" I am not complaining of the spectacular job done getting the links up so fast and with such a great quality, but I do feel that there should be some sort of control to avoid the people who download and don“t even wait for the ratio to go up to 1. At the time I made this Thread the stats for EP 11x02 were: Share ratio: 83 seeds, 4610 leechers Last updated: 2 hours ago Downloads: 9,115 -------------- My point is that I am in no way an expert, but how come for this particular torrent there have been 9 115 downloads and there are only 83 seeds and 4600 leechers!... Is there anything we can do? Dieter | |

Rep Power: 36 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't think there is anything you can do except go to a private tracker. The problem I find with the private trackers that measure your seeding is it is fine for a new torrent. But if you download an older one, nobody comes behind you to up your ratio. I have been seeding something I got off a private tracker for almost a month now and just today have I broke 60%. So to compensate, I will d/l a popular one and seed it to 2-300%, but then that will screw up someone else. I wish there was a better way. I personally seed for TG for 2 weeks. By that time it is usually up on one of the FTPs and all the rabid TG fans should have gotten it if they do not know about this site. Also, if I see a request, I will seed that.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I am hosting. It took me almost 3 hours to download. The first episode from season 11 is still uploading for people also. I averaged around 40 kb/second on the download...not good. Please everyone leave it up (at least for a few days so the rest of us can enjoy it!!!). Edit: Good for you Judy ^ ^ ^ I will now leave mine for weeks on end also. We need more people to leave these online! |

Rep Power: 25 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You don't really need a lot of seeders, because everyone of those leechers are still seeding somewhat, so yea, it's not as good as 1:1 ratio of a private tracker, it's still not bad. This week I got Motorworld's rip, there's only 3 seeders and 16 leechers (because I couldn't connect to the tracker), but I still got my rip quick.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I just finished downloading in approx 2h34m and now i'm uploading at 304KB which will go up to 530KB when I go to sleep and don't need any extra bandwidth. I know i'm in the minority, but I try to do my part. I usually upload till I see somewhere around 100seeders. It's just before 11pm in NJ and I only see 15 seeds according to bitlord. Mininova of course says there's more. I just wish there was a larger high quality file available. |

And on a side note, my seedbox has been doing 11 megabytes (around 100mbit) a second up for the past 3 hours or whatever.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | This is more a general comment for Viper007Bond... Since VuK isn't releasing exclusives for you anymore, why do you feel the need to relabel the scene rips with your own name, and thus split the seeding community in two? EZTV releases the rip here: http://www.mininova.org/tor/1551642 And then you add the same torrent to mininova, which not only adds clutter, but also splits potential seeders between the two torrents. What do you have to gain from doing that? Fame? Just post the original release and help everyone out. |

| I usually seed for atleast a week... only common curtousy I guess. Problem for me is that DLing is 10x as quick as ULing so getting to that 100% is quite difficult at times | |

Final Gears : http://www.mininova.org/tor/1551584 Your example : http://www.mininova.org/tor/1551642 So who is seeking fame? Maybe you should go to the board run by EZTV and ask them your question.

But basically, it comes down to quality control. EDIT: Even now, we have a much better seed:peer ratio.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Well actually, I use ISOHunt, which combines all the trackers hosting the same torrent: http://vtv.tracker.prq.to:80/announce http://trackeri4.rarbg.com:80/announce http://eztv.tracker.thepiratebay.org:80/announce http://77.247.176.153:80/announce http://bt.dattebayo-fr.fr:64455/announce http://tpb.tracker.prq.to:80/announce http://tracker.prq.to:80/announce http://tracker.ip-cloak.com:80/announce http://rl-tracker.changeip.org:6969/announce And if you just posted the original torrent, you too would be on that list! Idunno, maybe I'm a socialist commie bastard, but isn't the point of torrents to make content distribution better for everyone? You clearly have attracted a sizable following of those who come to the site to make their download, but I fail to see how isolating your group of seeders would be faster than if you just added to the aggregate. |

They were just called "Top Gear - 2003.10.03" or whatever. Then I realized it was like any other show, so I bumped in the season/episode to keep a mix. This of course was back when we were making our own rips and when I had little clue what "The Scene" was.I may switch back to the stock name (although I f'ing hate all lowercase!) after this season is up. We'll see.
