| Maybe pick up a refurb? No HD, but something like this should be more than capable of handling the load I would think. (Of course, you could buy a new 2 proc dual core for not much more these days!) http://cgi.ebay.com/Dell-PowerEdge-6...QQcmdZViewItem | |

| Global Moderator | Ouch, 7U? That's not cheap to colo. (roughly $75 a U, in D.C. Metro).

| Yea, its a tank. You could get a used dual core, dual proc Dell 1850 though - one U, two HD bays. | |

| I don't think space is the issue, it's raw computational power that is. I have to say, you guys have found some AWESOME hosts on here. I really like SoftLayer, I'm looking at that right now for a possible windows box. (Thanks ckm). I'm also looking at HE, as they seem to have the best network (Ergo Pings) for a game server. I'd LOVE to see what they could put together.

| Yeah the hosts really do work very hard around here great job!!! How much does this co location stuff cost anyway? Yeah the weekends and top gear surge why not, Top gear is back and better than ever!!! Also what is the bit with the skin selector and a US and Europe Server? Is their a European server if so where and what is it? | |
| | |
| | #29 |
| You know you want me.. | The european server handles the forum images, and is in the Netherlands.. so for the .eu people, the images load faster.

| Lazy Head Dude | It's our static files/images box. All the images on the main site as well as forums are hosted there. Saves load/bandwidth.

| Some equipment running on here then!! Never knew it was that much also explains why the images load fast for me. | |

| You know you want me.. | Yah, everything was down. Apparently, there were major connectivity issues to the datacenter.. should be fixed now. There might be an hour or so downtime on Saturday while they do some power work..

| You know you want me.. | ... and the core routers at the datacenter took a shit. 2 hours of downtime and we are back online. In other news, we are searching for a new datacenter that isn't down every couple of days. :-/

| Global Moderator | There are a couple of good providers at Equinix in Ashburn. I have heard good things about Carpathia Hosting and Defender Hosting.
