Why re-encode?
I've been reading on the front page that we're working so hard to get this re-code going.
But why? I like the 700mb files. They look and sound so much better. Should still fit on a CD-R if you want to burn it. What the problem? Can we keep them at 700mb?

It's been discussed before, let's not start it again. Please search before you post.
And those 700MB releases are scene rips and apparently they will always come out alongside the 425's. They're recorded by different people, thus not the exact same recording. So just keep on downloading those directly off torrent sites rather than get the links we recommend on this site. Problem solved, now you can breathe easy.

I dont think you can reeeeeaaally tell a whole helluva lot of difference between the 425mb rip and the 700mb if u can your paying too close attention

The 700MB rips aren't really all that different from VUK's. Even if they are, VUK still has a better balance of quality and file size. The 700MB rips are a waste of HDD space, if you ask me, but I still download them when things get rough (like the last two weeks
 )
