This episode doesn't sound all THAT exciting...

And you don't HAVE to watch it :p

Weismann and tvr in the same episode, it is like the definition of automotive porn ;)

I enjoy this show for two reasons: 1) the cars; and 2) the personalities and presentation by Jeremy, Richard and James. If these guys make the review of a Toyota Prius interesting (and they can), then they can make anything interesting.

i think i knew about 5 of stars before they were on top gear and Christopher Ecclestone is no exception. who is he?

Simon Cowell
Patrick Stewart
Christian Slater
Lionel Richie
Jordan
Jamie Oliver

thats it. 6 people. everyone else i had no idea who the hell they were, and most i still dont know.

I agree that most of stars are not well known, but I'm certain that you have watched at least one movie (hint Shelby GT 500) with Christopher Ecclestone. You have full list of his movies at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001172/.

I hope Stig is going to drive TVR!

I think you need to be in England to know who a majority of the people are. Most of them are from English T.V. shows and are household names over there.

Richard Whiteley ? Has hosted a very long running English game show called Count Down.
Johnny Vegas, Harry Enfield ? Both English comedians.
Jonathan Ross ? Hosts just about ever other bloody show in England.
Geri Halliwell ? Ex Ginger Spice
Tara Palmer-Tomkinson ? Ex celeb hottie and media whore.
Gordon Ramsey ? Famous chef.
Sir Cliff Richard ? VERY famous English singer.
Jodie Kidd ? Model and actually ONE HELL OF A DRIVER!
Jay Kay ? Lead singer of Jamiroquai and an avid collector of cars, although not a very good driver.
Ronnie O'Sullivan ? Snooker world champ.

They are just a few that I spotted and can remember.

Don't know if this has been said (I didn't see it when I read through the posts) but I'm guessing that the "splash" in the pool will be him driving the car into the pool that they briefly show in the "what's coming this season" segment of this seasons first episode. I'm also guessing that this will be some kind of homage to the rocker (whose name escapes me at this moment in time) who drove his Rolls Royce into a pool at a party.

Keith Moon of The Who

That's the one. Or as I call them now "the old guys who do the theme songs for all the CSI shows". :D

I really liked that one...

Anyway, Cristopher Eccelstone should be a good watch as well... I really started to like Dr Who!

I dunno about James May, but JC LOVED the Murano in his sunday times review a couple weeks back. he claimed he couldn't find a single thing wrong with it

explorerman;

the Nissan Murano is based on the Altima (FF-L) platform which comes in FWD, or available in the Murano's application; AWD

there is NO Infiniti version of the Murano. The vehicle you're thinking of; the FX35/FX45 is based on the (FM) platform; which underpins the Nissan 350z, and Infiniti G35 coupe. Of course; now you have justified reasoning to preffer the "Bionic Cheetah" :p

Another cool thing to note; im pretty sure the 4.5l V8 is the engine they were/are using in the IRL, which imo has a sexy exhaust note, what with those titanium valves :)

Fair enough :D

My point about Nissan still stands. I have an '04 Quest SE (top of the range) and the fit and finnish on it is very poor. Plastics are very low quality, no or very little sound deadening material between outer and inner panels. I could go on and on but why bother :x

That FX45 is a sweet ride though, however I think my next car (if I don't get the cobra below) is going to be the Shelby GT500 Mustang

Back in the first episode of the new season there was a preview of things to come. The last 5 seconds were of a vintage Benz or Rolls (all the 40-50's era euro cars all blend together to me) crashing into a pool. Maybe thats whats Jezza is up to.

The listing for this has been revised:

On this week's programme Jeremy makes a splash when he opens a local swimming pool; Richard Hammond finds out what happens when you take the roof off an Aston Martin DB9 with the new DB9 Volante; James May goes back to the 70's with the Maserati Bora; Germany and Russia give us their interpretations of the classic British sports car with the Weismann MF3 and TVR Tuscan 2 and Christopher Ecclestone swaps the Tardis for a Liana as this week's 'Star in a Reasonably Priced Car'.

Ok, so off with the Murano, in with the Bora...
BTW, the DB9 was already on studio last week, wasn't it?

no, that was the db9 look-alike.... aka the new jag
