I NEED the first song from when they boarded the bullet train. :eek:

Brilliant fun! Really enjoyed SIARPC this time.
And the race was truly exciting. I so felt for the boys!
Well done, guys! That was Top Gear at its best!

If I were to nitpick, I'd point out that the "I found something on the internet" bit in the news is pointless because the TV viewers don't get to see whatever it is, so why leave it in?

So when I watch the show again in a minute, those are the only 10 seconds I'll skip. :)
I thought the Alfa 8C Convertible was what he found on the internet? I could be wrong as the subtitles were several seconds behind the action but it certainly seemed that way to me. IIRC Jeremy announces he found something, switch to audience to get reaction while the 3 say "Filthy", "Pornographic" etc. We then get to see what they're talking about, which is the Alfa.

- The Alfa review was spoilt by the MTV-editing and silly sound effects.
- The race was awesome.
- News wasnt up to scratch. Still lacks cars.

A rare 9/10 from me. The race just dominated the entire episode, which I for once didn't mind!

neg, that was the joke, he said here's something I found on the internet, camera cuts away as man having intimate moment with the exhaust of a range rover is displayed, audience looks away as clarkson starts talkin crap, then cuts back to the picture of the 8C conv.

Speaking of findings on the internet, I was going around and I found this absolute PRICK!

Oh yeah, the suspense was back, I still maintain the best race was the DB9 race though, just cos it was so simple. And that episode, if it had a better SIARPC would be my number 1.

Would you care to explain why 1, you felt the need to search me out on the internet, and 2, why you've just called me a prick? :mad:

:lol: Mike, if you log out of facebook, your photo will disappear, it had me going for a while :)

Thought it was a great episode, best of the series (so far at least).

Really liked the Alfa review, shame that it wasnt dry when they put it round the track.

The news for me was better than it has been this series.

The race was incredible, great music and cinematography. Jezza at the petrol station had me in stitches for along time after.

I agree with Blythy on the first page about missing the days when there were lots of different segments and reviews but this episode was still fantastic.

Ooh, my sides are splitting. :rolleyes:

Logged out and it went, logged back in and it's reappeared. Great. Thanks. How funny. Not.

Review:

Alfa 8C:
* Engine noise doesn't beat The V8 Vantage! ^^
* Almost too much effects splattered out all over the video, but not seriously a problem.
* A bit "slow", hehe!
* Feels like a mustang and has a bad gearbox, damn. But it looks damn good!
* 1:38.2: HOLY! Soooo-Slooow!

News:
* Horrible Panda! ^^
* Internetz, goddam.. Hehe, C8 Convertible! Sweet!
* Dacia Sandero, God such a cool car. Oh, I meant uncool.
* Q5: A car I don't want.
* Ferrari California: I'd rather have a different Ferrari.

God yes, it's time! GT-R part 1:
* The engine is being built in a hermetically sealed lab, that says it all. Oh, and the tires are filled with nitrogen and it's just so awesome GTR actually means Awesome Race Car in ancient Japanese. (Not really, almost.).
* Maybe the train actually will win this, for the first time?
* Navigator: ~Japanese, something.~
* JC: Help!
* The Bullet train looks ugly :p
* Jezza doesn't like the GT-R? Oh well.

SIARPC: It has no connection with cars, which Top Gear is supposed to be about...
* Lol, the liana looked like it went past the tires faster than the 8C!

God yes, it's time! GT-R part 2:
* Amy ^^ Lots of help :p
* Now, Amy is turned off and she cannot help Jeremy anymore ^^
* Oh, May got lost coz the train spit -.-
* And now Amy is back and Hammond is 15 minutes behind May! This is getting exciting!
* Will this be as close as the Ferrari 612 challenge?!
* Wow, Jezza is really driving the GT-R!
* SOOOO INCREDIBLY CLOSE!
* Wow, Jeremy won! This was fun!

I hope they do a full Japan episode from top to bottom... Imagine the cars for ?1000. :D

speaking of engine noises, I was at the grand prix last weekend and you can't beat an F1 engine on song, to be honest.

However, as far as road cars go, the safety cars - not the safety car proper, but the estate that does the track inspection with it - that's the best sounding car I've heard.

Best of the season so far, and I for one love the editing style for the track reviews both this week and last. MTV couldn't get close to production values of that quality.

Enjoyed the news, and wished for the ladies' sakes they had had a dry track to play on as I think JC was right that the conditions probably cost them 7-8 seconds. For supposedly "stuffy" BBC newsreaders they've been the best pait of guests so far IMHO.

Really liked the race - I've had a thing about Japan for some years, I'd love to play with one of those GT-R's, and Hammond losing May was a nice twist, but I felt it lacked any real tension until the last couple of minutes and even then that they had rushed the edit a little. Really thought JC was going to lose to those boys for the first time and was slightly gutted that he didn't.

All the hype from Wilman had me primed and ready to give this one a solid 10, but the reality only gets an 8 from me. Might rise to a 9 as I haven't checked my Lotto numbers from yesterday yet, and if they have come up I will me getting one of those Ala 8C's somehow!

Shit that had me worried for a moment there! :?;) Don't do that to me! :lol:

Oh my facebook photo is embarrasing (it's an on ride photo and I'm enjoying it too much), it got done to me and I had a heart attack, I'm just passing it along. :p

Best TG since the US special, and probably the best 'normal' TG (ie not a special), since I dunno, early series 8?

To be honest I think series 11 has started slowly. The Alfa challenge last week showed up everything that's not good about 2008-spec Top Gear, very predictable and samey.

But look what happens when they come up with something genuinely new and interesting. Suddenly the need for clunky scripted jokes and samey cocking about is no more. The race today was an epic, really funny and an all-round good bit of telly. Some real laugh out loud moments, really wanted Hammond & May to win this one though!

The Alfa review was good if you apply the strange Clarkson logic that a car that's awful to drive and brick-slow is totally redeemed by looking nice (though I didn't think it was that good looking myself). Very well shot too.

The news was slightly low-key compared to previous weeks, but good.

EVEN the SIARPC was funny this week.

Very good episode. VERY good.

Great episode. Loved the editing in the review and the race was epic.

One tiny little nag I have: Have Richard and James actually gone near a car to REVIEW it this series?! so far Jeremy's had ALL the reviews and that just seems a little bit unfair to me... c'mon Wilman, give them something to do to earn their payrise, surely?! :p

He didn't- he did it to me and I didn't find it funny, have reported it, and am waiting for something to be done about it. :mad:

ahhh quit your whinging, accept it as a joke and move on.
