The race was good, on the edge finish was the highlight of it though.J ust for a sec compare it to the DB9 race, I think it lacked the same excitement. The news was funny, but it was almost a re do from the week before. I did enjoy the C8 review, and they are deffenetly stepping up their camera work game. It was kewl

I'll be watching this one again, this friday ;D.
That's good about living in The Netherlands
- Fresh Top gear on Sunday at 9pm
- Really old top gear at a channel called "Veronica"on friday at 9pm
- Immediately after that a repeat of the latest top gear
- Fresh Top Gear on Sunday at 9pm

Top Gear Weekend, Yeah ;D
You wanna try and get the UK channel 'Dave'. We have old TG's about 8 times a day, plus 5th Gear and loads of other quality blokes shows. New TG Sunday night at 8pm on our BBC2, usually repeated Wed, Thu or Fri night, but available 24/7 on www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer which you could try and get if you can source a UK IP address ;)

I didn't like the race in this episode because it seem too staged to me. It seems like Hammond and May could have purchased a JR Pass, so they didn't have to deal with buying the tickets at the machine. Plus, there are enough ticket machines in English in every train station. I brought all my tickets from the machines with English and avoided those without English. There are also information booths at all train station where people speak English. This is especially true for popular tourist stations and for some reason, small towns. In Tokyo, people are afraid to speak English, but all the signs have English and Japanese. Plus, there are plenty of individuals on business trips in Tokyo, and a lot of them can speak English. And when it came to the food, there are burgers, pizzas, and sandwiches rather than fish. And there is plenty of tofu and pastry around too. Finally, I highly doubt you can walk through your train and end up in a different one.

I enjoyed the race because of all the scenery in Japan, but the race was less impressive to me than the SLR vs boat and Veyron vs Plane challenges. The GTR race really didn't feel all that epic, even after multiple viewings.

Finally, I highly doubt you can walk through your train and end up in a different one.

That can happen, it's common practice in almost every country.

Although I liked the setting of the race and the shots of Japan I somehow have the impression I am missing something. Maybe the GT-R does not have the same fascination as the previous cars on the other races. It could have been a Toyota Crown Taxi and the outcome would have been the same.

Can somebody tell me, why is it almost dry while JC filming his Alfa-review and so terribly wet when the Stig testing it? Why can't the test or retest the car when it's dry?

That's not the first time they do so....

Ha, nice work on the facebook bit. Wasnt expecting that.....

Bloody hell!

That's it. I'm moving over to the UK.

Speaking of findings on the internet, I was going around and I found this absolute PRICK!

badge.php

That'll teach me to eat while reading this - I nearly sprayed the screen with food!!! Well it was enough to stop me lurking and finally sign up... Changing "badge_mobile_status" in the URL to "badge_name" may be even more worrying...

Great episode this one, made up for a slight disappointment last week. Think the funniest bit was the response from the pump attendant when JC showed her the Bill Oddie mask (presuming she had no idea who he was but just found it really funny!).

I love how Clarkson admitted that the pic was porno during the news. And the race was awesome! Amy is back! lol

that was a great episode...only wish that he'd reviewed the car a bit more during the race itself, like he did with the bugatti...could have been longer too, and done away with the SIRPC section

What did Clarksond said at the begining about Kiera Knightly?

He was referring to a philosophical quotation along the lines of, '...there is no beauty without strange proportions', to which he quipped, 'Look at Keira Knightley, she's just an ironing board with a face, but she works'.

Earliest reference I can find to it is from Edgar Allan Poe....."There is no exquisite beauty... without some strangeness in the proportion."
?Edgar Allan Poe, "Ligeia"

I watched it with my 65yr old mother in law who had never seen TG before (we were on hols in a cottage and so we all had to watch whatever is on). I think the fact she's set the video for this weeks episode already shows that in one episode alone she's become a convert! Nice on Wilman et al.

There is loads of analysis that could be done with those stats (plus the other episodes) - you could multiply by posts to give a weighted average - notice how most of the silly 1, 2 and 3 points are given by people who have not posted or only a few times - Steve excepted of course, damn he is a difficult man to please!

Thanks for the tip. I'll especially try it for the "Other quality blokes shows", since I have all top gear episodes on DVD already. I can watch them whenever I want! Which is afwully often, by the way.

I'll go and find myself a UK proxy server, hoping it will work.
Thanks, again!
