Hello,

Our Jaguar has been meticulously maintained during its 68,000 mile lifetime by my grandfather who has owned it since 1996. In the last year several months I have noticed a single thump coming from the front of the car when pushing the accelerator from a stop. It happens about 60-70% of the time. Also about 50% of the time you can fell/hear it when you start the car. I am not sure what this could be and don't remember it always doing that in years past. Do you think it is a transmission issue or something loose in the suspension or in the engine compartment somewhere? If you have any questions about this description please feel free to ask! Thank you for your help.

Zack

Sounds like a bad engine or transmission mount to me.

Or possibly a bad universal joint. The rear being notorious for leaking. Had to have mine changed at only 30,000 miles.

I think the problem has either been sorted or the car sold/scrapped by now.

LOL. I should have checked the last posting date. LOL Getting old I guess :(
