Let me know what you think!

More of a BMW guy here... I'd like to have a K1200S, tried it and it was great. Not really into Yamahas.

cool! ive always wanted big bikes :D

I've allways wondered, how big a difference are there in characteristics between manufacturers? Like, are there small differences, like Mazda and Toyota, or like the difference between a 5-series and a Hyundai Sonata?

Awesome color, that blue looks really good - especially on a Yamaha!

That depends how you look at it. Of course, all the manufacturers make different kinds of bikes, from cruisers, to sportsbikes, supersports, sport-tourers, multipurpose, etc...and the differences between them are like night and day. Within the same segments, however, the bikes can be quite similar. Take a look at the current literbikes or 600 sportsbikes...all the Japanese manufacturers offer very similar products - the Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki models are very similar to each other, as are the Italian twins.

Yes, I did think of models within the same segment. :)

In that case, then yeah, some of the manufacturers have very, very similar models. Think of it as being even closer than, say, Camry and Accord.
