Yeah, great car. My Dad has a 2003 E39 touring and I love it.
I was actually close to buying one 1,5 years back, when my best mates Dad sold his 528i, which would have been enough for me, and it was in PERFECT condition. I doubt it could have been any better.
He sold it to another mates Dad for money I could have squatted out, and I'm a student

If you want to get the trim painted, which would make it look even sexier, shouldn't be more than a couple hundred. It can all just be removed and sprayed, no real prep needed. Otherwise, the car looks great...best looking of the 5-Series.
