2010 Buick LaCrosse/Invicta Spy Shots-Information

Wow, that's hideously misshapen. I hope the photographs have been resized badly, because that has the proportions of the current Corolla, and it looks way too tall and narrow. The current-generation Chinese-market Lacrosse still blows it out of the water style-wise.

Look at the spy photos above the most recent ones I posted for general shape and size.

I still think that this car shouldn't be badged as a Buick. It just seems so out of place =, seeing that Buicks are traditional, simple, and big slushboxes that appeals to old people. The only Buicks I've seen here (and there really arent that much) are all driven by fairly old people. A tall modernish sedan with small wheels just doesn't seem to fit the brand at all.

These are the larger optional wheels it seems:

We caught a convoy of 2010 Buick Lacrosse prototypes running on public roads?this time with drastically reduced camouflage. Prior Lacrosse test vehicles had always been clad under oppressive covers, but now we can see all but the finest details on Buick's new sedan. The prototypes captured here definitely show a resemblance Buick's Invicta concept car shown in China earlier this year.

Two distinct prototypes were identified in the group: one with no visible exhaust tips and a clean rear bumper, the other with sporty dual exhaust tips cut into the bumper and larger, more aggressive wheels.

We also managed a revealing interior shot, showing the impressive feeling of craftsmanship that will be applied to the Lacrosse's passenger compartment. It looks as if Buick stylists have learned a lesson, or two, from the Cadillac CTS' interior design.

The test group had an interesting mix of comparison vehicles along for the ride, covering a wide range of market segments. Running alongside the Lacrosse prototypes were a Mercedes E-class, a Lincoln MKS, and a Volkswagen Passat.

It's a good looking car, inside and out. Like the Jaguar XF though, it seems to lack originality and looks very Japanese. Theres nothing about it that suggests that it has Buick values. I only wish that they could have stretched this and replace the current Impala with it.

Judging from spy pics we've seen of the upcoming 2010 Buick LaCrosse, General Motors may have a winner on its hands, even if it is getting delayed. If specs from GM Inside News are accurate, Buick's new midsize sedan will have significant new powertrains, too. The big news comes from an all-new 3.0L, direct-inject V6 engine based on the larger 3.6L VVT powerplant that the General uses now. The small-displacement V6 packs some serious punch at 250 hp, and will be mated to the automaker's new 6T70 six-speed transmission for improved efficiency. The new 3.0L engine is likely to achieve a significant fuel economy gain over the 3.6, with highway economy estimated at close to 30 mpg. The new LaCrosse will also feature the same 3.6L powerplant that underpins the Chevy Traverse, with direct injection and an estimated 290 hp.

Other details about the new LaCrosse include HID headlamps, a heads-up display, rear view camera and all-wheel-drive. We haven't received any details on the AWD system, but we're guessing it will be the same unit that currently drives all four wheels of the new Saab 9-3X. We're looking forward to getting more details on the Buick LaCrosse, and when we do, you'll be the first to know.

Good stuff!!!

It will be interesting to see what the EPA numbers of the new V6 engine are.
