The country UKIP is scared of
Car(s)
Working on it
A bit of shock and horror from yesterday and a lot of announcements good and bad, first spyshots of Toyota's new car, Peugeot announcing that they'll be pulling out of endurance racing effective immediately, Pescarolo finally breaking the silence and announcing a programme for 2012, the floodgates open in LMP2... endurance racing is in a state of flux at the moment.

Okay, so this thread will be dedicated to any racing under the ACO "umbrella", plus Stephane Ratel's GT endurance series, so the GT World Championship (1h sprint races) is counted out. The first post will contain calendars for all 4 series, and complete entry lists when they surface.

so that's why Wurz went to toyota

he must've known...

No, Wurz announced his move some time in late November. The rumblings about Peugeot pulling out all started and concluded within a matter of about 2 weeks, some rumblings started coming in after the New Year and yesterday the bombshell was dropped. Bourdais and Pagenaud must have known something though, since they both signed full-season IndyCar deals with Dreyer & Reinbold and Sam Schmidt respectively within the last month.

And one of the saddest sights possible:

Peugeot had a test session scheduled at Sebring. Their paddock garage was all set up and now it sits abandoned out there. :(

Wow, seeing VIR on the ALMS schedule is fantastic. It also explains why tracks officials seemed so quiet after the news that the Grand Am series wouldn't return this year.

Anyway, with the Baltimore GP Labor Day weekend and VIR two weeks after that, September is looking to be an awesome month. :D

Toyota TS030 HYBRID

2 cars for Le Mans, racing debut at Spa 6 Hours in May. Hybrid system can drive either front or rear axles right now, they'll have to decide on one before the first race, energy storage through supercapacitors. Brand-new 3.4 l V8 engine, not the RV8KLM that's used in Super GT, Formula Nippon and as a customer Toyota engine in LMP1 by Rebellion Racing (who will continue with their Toyota-powered Lolas).

Deadline for WEC and Le Mans entries has been extended to Jan 30, announcement is still Feb 2. Rumours now point towards Peugeot Sport trying to go against the Peugeot boardroom decision and attempting to place some 908s in the hands of private teams.

Le Mans and WEC entry lists to be announced later today (4pm CET as far as I'm aware).

Meanwhile, it seems as if Pescarolo will run at Le Mans, of all things... a Dome S102. :D

Didn't get to watch the 24 hours until just now (DVR problems).
This comment from Tommy Kendall cracked me up:

Am I right in thinking the #99 AMR GTE-Am car is the Young Driver squad from FIA GT?

Maybe, maybe not, Nygaard was with them in 2010 but they dumped him for this year and he raced for a few rounds for the second-string Ford team. Suspicion is that this car may be a ELMS entry for the rest of the season.
