3DMARK how does your computer score ?

Okay folks, I ran 06 again and instead of ~10,000 this is what I get. Now this is moar like it!

https://pic.armedcats.net/s/sh/shawn/2008/05/28/3dm.jpg

I got a C2D E8400, eVGA 9800GTX and 4gb DDR2 memory. All stock.

err, i misread my score before. I logged back into ORB and looked them over. It seems the highest score i left online was 16,413 and that was at 3.699. I don't think that was my top one though as i remember breaking 17k. I probably deleted it and went off tweaking, then promptly got occupied with other stuff. still pretty nice on stock cooling, no? :)

Maybe I should OC my shit...

Then again, all it does is lower stability and it's not like I need the extra performance (yet). I can run all games but Crysis at 1080p on max settings, usually with AA.

Why bother Viper? The only point in doing it now would be to get more 3DMarks, and if you're already getting good FPS on the games you play, then who really cares about more 3DMarks? Wait until you actually need to for better performance when higher quality games come out.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking... Thanks. :)

10,000 isn't bad for a last year's PC, but I'm pretty sure Shawn just built a new one with a 9800GTX, etc.

BTW, madcow, what is your score for the PC in your sig?

Got around 10000 pts when I still had Vista 32 + 2gb ram.

Havn't tried running 3Dmark2006 again after the ram upgrade, but I suspect that the score might be a tad lower.... seeing as I dropped the ram from CL4 to auto config with the new Corsair ram.

OCZ 4-4-4-12 @ 2.1v FTW. Pity the Corsair can never pull that kind of timing, gotta pay the price for being greedy (6gb of ram).

Well... I'm gonna format my pc sometime within this week, I will post up the new 3dmark06 test result when I install a fresh copy of OS.

OC'ed my video card up to 675/950 and that gave me an extra 200 points (11300 now): http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=6929063

You obviously did a weak/mild OC. Those 8800GT can be quite something when you turn up the voltage and just crank it to max ram/core speed.

I know for a fact that when I run my HD3850 under full OC mode, I can get close to 11500 pts. And that's approaching 3870OC/8800GT(stock) territory.

I just did a simple OC via the drivers. I don't wanna mess with the voltage or go into unstable territory.

yeah true.... but a little bit of risk is always fun :D

I just ran 3DMark06 on my new machine.

It got 10972, which isn't too bad for all stock clocks. No screenshot, I don't have it on the internet yet.

My new PC

stock & slightly overclocked (4x 3000Mhz; 680Mhz Core/2000Mhz Ram)

Intel Xeon 3350 (aka Q9450) 4x 2666 Mhz
Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX
Gainward 8800GT 1024MB
Gigabyte EX38-DS4
WD Raptor 74GB
WinXP

...and everything runs fine with a 380Watt PSU

I don't remember if it was this test (I think it was) but after rendering at 0 FPS for a while I got a score of 17...

Lawls!

I've an Athlon XP, not a Sempron as suggested by 3D Mark (how dare it)! The "Get It" link also shows that the current price for my X800 GTO is still around $180! I could've gotten an 8800GT for that kind of money... only if I have a PCIe!

e4400 / 9600gt / 2GB RAM - 8k stock settings. - 12500 OCED

e8400 / 9600gt /2GB RAM - waiting for my DFI mobo so I can OC it and get a score =)

GPU Running at... 798 / 1097 :D

Just ran Vantage for the first time ever. No overclocking at all. Could OC my video card, but I'm lazy.

Score: 4927
CPU: 4717
GPU: 5001

4118 in 3DMark06 on my laptop, 1066 CPU marks.

Pentium 4 660 3.6GHz
2GB DDR2
GeForce Go 7800 GTX
XP Home

I used to think that was good.. now there's shitloads in the 10000+ mark zone :( God, i'm out of touch with computers now!

What about lowest scores?

I've managed to get 255 marks in 3DMark2001. I had my 9800 Pro die on my desktop and I had a Savage S4 Pro as a temp card! I ranked up the settings and half the time I couldn't even get it to run! :D
