911 porn

I'm just afraid this previously unloved model (the 964) is going to start skyrocketing in value soon. Then I'll have to either go newer with a 996 or older with a Carrera 3.2 or even 986S.... The 964 is so perfect though...:(
It's already started, about a year ago Chris Harris wrote a column in EVO about the 964 and how the turbo models residuals have increased over the past five years to the point where a 964 Turbo 3.6 is now worth almost twice as much as it could fetch five years ago. Values are increasing on the regular 964 Carreras as well, that was the last 911 model with the original narrow body style. The successor, the 993, featured flared arches front and rear also with the Carrera models. The 964 is also the chassis of choice for backdating projects such as the Singer 911, due to it's narrow body style, stiffer chassis, multilink suspension, and how (relatively) easily you can fit older style parts to it and make it look the part too...

I do like the rather off-beat 986, and I don't think those are going to go up in value soon, if at all. The interior is my only gripe, but I've seen some that look good.

Grad school....why oh why? I could probably afford one in a year or two if I wasn't about to start grad school.

So skip it! It's just a way to forestall real life for people who don't want to leave school. It's not like you'll learn any life skills there anyway. No kids and no student loans are a great path to motoring nirvana. :)

The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards sadly does not feel the same way. :(

Plus, how else am I going to feel right about putting "TheProf" on my custom 911 license plate?

So I've be perusing some for sale ads, and I think a 997 might be within reach in a few years, I had no idea they had dipped below $30k for a C2 or even a C2S with very acceptable mileage :) I think they are going to be held in the same esteem as the 993 eventually.

997 is as cheap as Porsche driving gets over here, excluding the Boxter. But they are just the least thought after model...

Apparently it's the same here. I think they are quite beautiful and have a really good looking interior too. Hopefully they will continue to be cheap like the 996's are for a few years! My only grip is that they are a little big in comparison to the air-cooled cars. But seriously, a Carrera S will do 190mph and I found one for $30,000 USD. That's ridiculous.

And it sounds like the 997 had some damn good reliability stats as well.

Hm.. over here its more like "you better got some change left over besides the money for regular services" when it comes to 997s. But don't know details. Also I think the looks and the "first watercooled" make it that cheap. I could live with the watercooling just fine, but the looks are kinda hard to deal with :D.

Wait, yes, why do I keep fucking up 996 and 997. I was talking 996 all the damn time. Thats the dirtcheap 911er here and the not-so-super-reliable one apparently. Also the fairly ugly one :p.

997s are quite expensive.

The 991's tiny taillights sorta look weird, especially with the raised trunk vent for the Cup cars. Eh, would still hoon.

There's a Spec 996 series now. Me gusta. Mostly because I would have zero qualms about ripping apart that interior.

You have probably all seen the "5 Million Facebook-Fans" 911 Special, but this shot right here is just SEXY, if you ask me!
