Actually it's not called the Pureshit altough by chinese naming standards it would be an option (the very real Great Wall i7 Phenom comes to mind) but it is still pretty shit.

Powered by an engine that develops horsepower, the Emgrand EC 825 is the first high-end sedan produced by Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd. Produced in the Jinan plant in eastern China it features Geely's special Blow-Out Monitoring & Braking System (BOMBS) which monitors the surroundings for outspurts of disloyal thinking and halts such behaviour dead in it's tracks.

To prevent accidents ideologically sanitized guards are present at the assembly line at all times.

And here is the PS, sorry I mean EC825.

I know what you are thinking; "AiR, you dastardly fellow, surely this is not Pureshit, merely Alittleboring!"

But wait, you haven't seen the interior yet!

Who crapped on the seats? Was it the man with the blue cap?

Holy mother of panel gaps batman!

I love the fit of the little thing visible through the lower part of the steering wheel.

Why do they insist on these light brown poopsmeared interiors? What's wrong with BLACK? Is it another of those "oooh bad luck in China" things?

(Actually I don't know what the BOMBS are for, but I only made up the part after the acronym.)

stuck a chrysler badge on there, and you would've fooled me...

doesn't look bad

Has a little of Holden/Chevy Epica on the front, Camry on the side, and a little A6 at the back.

Yes, black is an unlucky color (for interiors), that's why they're always either brown or beige.

For that press-event only? Or during the real assembley "at all times"? How would that help? Give them a whip ...

And indeed ... if you like gaps ... that?s the car for you!

Needs more whip-punishment IMO. ideologically sanitized guards are useless without whips.

My eighties Nissan Bluebird has far better panel gaps than this pathetic pile of crap!

I love how the headlights are trying to crib the look of the Buick Park Avenue, as well.

Really, it doesn't look all that bad. Ignore the panel gaps, and it looks like an average small sedan, not a shitty Chinese sedan...

Its just "some car"..

Oh and did any one else read the cars name as "Pursuit"?

Its a first generation cadillac CTS-V, chinese ripoff of course. Complete with fake caddy badge on the grille. (google image search it, wheel is the same, grille is the same, window lines are the same)

I was thinking they were like there when the staff went home but of course it's China so the staff never go home, except for this photo shoot where they appear to have "disappeared".

But if I am in error, explain to me this why the guards are there in this photographs as well! Yes that blue thing all the way back there in the distance. Perhaps it's the crap-on-seat detail preparing for their shi(f)t.

Really? My Parents don't like it because it's an ass to maintain.

This, if the panels were assembled with much tighter tolerances, and if some materials were a bit different/nicer, (less shiny handbrake, a nicer patterning on the seats) it would look pretty damm nice.

I hate all black interiors. They manage to look cheap, sterile, and cold like gray ones, even though it's supposed to signify "sportiness." I'd much rather have a two tone interior with black dashtop, upper door trims and beige/taupe lower section and seats than a black interior. My current car has a beige interior and I like it.

I'd take it over a Sebring.

Gee, I was so caught-up looking at the rings around the guages, I almost forgot I wasn't looking at an Aston.

[/sarcasm...duh...]

I like the optional pre-over-Armor-All'd? steering wheel.

It's more the "Do you want your steering wheel to look like it's done 100,000kms without turning a wheel?"

First came the Japanese -- and were laughed at, because they were cheap copies of European cars. I still remember my uncle mocking the leafsprings on Toyotas in the late 1970's, comparing them with horse carriages. He was driving an Opel at the time.

Then came the Koreans -- and were laughed at, because they were cheap copies of Japanese cars. Some still laugh today, because many of their cars are still a joke. But they're getting better as we speak.

Now the Chinese -- and we're laughing at them, because they make cheap copies of European, Japanese, Korean and American cars.

I would stop laughing and start worrying.

Even though they're currently still only producing crap, the Chinese will be the decisive factor in the world car market in the future, I have no doubt about that. I'm not so worried about the premium brands, they will prevail and will always keep their technological edge (if they don't act stupid).

But every carmaker who produces and sells cars, that people buy for rational reasons only, should be extremely worried. Especially those who are still on the brink of bankruptcy and have similar gaps in their dashboards.

Remember that even the koreans had to build design centers and factories in Europe before we started accepting them and the bulk of the japanese cars sold here are also indigenous to Europe so I still think that the Chinese Invasion is a bit overrated. Sure, they will continue to improve until then one day are just as mainstream as the koreans and japanese are today but remember, they still occupy a ridicilously small market share in Europe. Giant Toyota dwarfs the other asian brands and it still only has a 5.0% market share (ACEA, January 2010). It's luxury marque Lexus sold just 20 000 cars last year.

Meanwhile, Geely can make an interior without panel gaps when they feel like it. This is the EC718. They even forgot smearing the seats with poo on this one. Altough instead they seem to have releaved themselfes onto the carpets.

It isn't bad looking, but that's just because its a mashup of bits from other cars. And that's only a little better than directly ripping off one car.

I'd drive one... If someone gave it to me. and only for the interesting/unique factor. if they started officially importing them, then never mind.
