I went all on buying DVDs, and while I know there is a difference, I only have a few Blu-Rays. Netflix totally trumped owning anything.

my dad had a massive VHS collection then, reluctantly, replaced them with DVDs.
After seeing Blu-ray Disc, he's not sure whether to keep going with DVD releases or get the Blu-Ray Disc stuff.

Anyways, I just wanted to iterate that ANIMATION benefits the most from HD transfers, more than live action.
It's stunning seeing stuff like Laputa: Castle in the Sky. I can't compare it to anything!

Most comedies, I don't bother with br. If it's a special effects movie or a live concert or something, then yeah, I'll spend the money. I haven't re-bought many things, though. A couple, but not many.

CGI seems to respond very well to HD transfers, Pixar's stuff in particular always looks awesome in HD form.

Just ordered, not real 3D (anaglyphic) and only on the DVD disc.

Triple Play release - Blu-ray + DVD (with 3D option) + Digital Copy. The DVD includes the option to watch the feature film in traditional stereoscopic 3D, and each copy of this product comes with four free pairs of the required anaglyph red/green glasses (as pictured).

Blu-Ray sometimes ruins movies... T2. <_<
It's not necessarily the Blu-ray format, but the people behind the decision by studios (FOX?) to abuse DNR during transfer.
The worst offenders (that I know of) are:

Predator
Happy Gilmore
Terminator 2

FFS, shut up, just shut up once in a while! Nobody gives a fuck. Movies are crap anyway. Every single one.

I do also have a season of something on something somewhere. And I got my period today.

I hate to break news from 1982... red/green 3D is fucking awful.
Didn't get past the intro and now I can't see anything... it's destroyed my eyes.
