Hi All!

Today; FinalGear Brings you;
Cooking With Serj!!

Today's Recipie; Curry Chicken! Yum!
First you will need ingredients. I am using boneless Chicken breast, on sale from a local grocer, and these easy to find spices:

Olive Oil, Red Curry Powder, Celery Salt, and some ground pepper.

With a simple cutting board, Medium-Large Wok, good, firm spatula and/or Spoon, a Large Serrated Kitchen Knife, and some Zip-Loc/Hefty food storage bags.

Remember to Wash up!

Chicken can be subject to contamination much more easily than beef, so this is quite important. Now, You need to take out your sword n' Board, and cut the chicken into small chunks or strips.

Be sure the pieces arent too large, or it will take longer to cook and will dry out your meat.

It's a Dirty Job, but someone has to do it. Where's Mike Rowe when you need him?

Now, Once you have all your chicken cut up, go ahead and Bag it. I am using a Hefty GALLON freezer bag.

Next, Add a Little Olive Oil so the chicken slides easily around in the bag, Then add your Curry Spices

Don't be Stingy! all those surfaces need a good coating for the best flavor. for over 3lbs of Chicken, i wound up using a close to 1/3rd my spice.

Now, You have your chicken bagged with spices and a little oil, Time to Shake n' Bake!

Your Chicken will be ready to cook when the chicken turns a different shade, and there is a thin greasy curry coating the inside of the bag, Now lets get it fired up!
I turned my burner up to 3/4ths. Ironic, considering it's an electric unit (not much of a burner, eh?)

With your burner warming up the pan, add some Olive Oil to the basin. We're basically pan-frying it, using more healthy oil. Make sure to coat the pan well, so the chicken doesnt stick and burn.

Now, Add your chicken:

and give all the chicken a nice even dusting of celery salt. Table salt works fine, and I often use a little to augment this salt.

Now that you have the heat on your Chicken, keep it moving around in the pan, so all the pieces get some time in the bottom with the olive oil.

Hmmm.... I think it needs some pepper at this point.

Wow, look at how our chicken is coming along!

For an extra measure to keep the chicken moist, I like to add the juices from the bag back in, Nummy!

Viola! a Wonderful tasting entree! Eat it straight, or add your favorite vegetable medly!

Special Thanks to My Wife for the original Recipie, taking all the photos, and Motivating my lazy arse into making it!

Curry powder in a bottle - no no no no! Make your own with the correct whole spices and toast them, then grind them up and make a paste with oil. Apart from that very nice (I am being a bit pedantic).

hey man, i work with what I have, and it took me longer to edit pics and write this up than to make. Considering that, it's a great treat. My wife loves to put some in the food processor and make Curry Chicken Salad Sammiches with it. Yummy! :9

Big up for the whole thread (you got a +rep from me) - yes like it, just saying, if you can do it with the fresh spices you will find it so much nicer than the Curry Powder route. Still nice pics and it looks yummy.

Looks good and relatively easy for us lazy people to make, when I cook chicken I usually deepfry it :)

Lol, I was just about to say the same thing. But nonetheless, cool recipe! You get a +rep from me as well :)

Look! It's Doctor Freeman the Second! HE'S CLONING HIMSELF EVERYWHERE!

This thread motivated me to go to the kitchen and do some real cooking. But I got lazy and popped open a frozen Mexican thing and just had that. It was quite Mexcellent! Desserts are my specialty anyway. Maybe sometime I'll make a pretty one and post it to brag about it. :p

Cooking with Rovers!
Just add JiffyPop!

add-on:

with a food processor, just throw some chicken in once it cools:

Get some Mayo, some Mustard, and mix with the chicken in a sealable tub to make your chicken salad, with a curry kick! great for sammiches :D

You should see if the Food Network can hook you up with a show :D

:+1: Nice recipe, but your wife needs to stop moving the camera and taking shots, nearly all are blurry (or that on purpose to hide your face  )

Ahh...that is what you were describing to me on IRC! I will have to pass the recipe on to the wife, she likes to tinker in the kitchen like how a gearhead likes to tinker on cars.
