I always thought the gif was made from something like a 3 second roll. That's amazing. I wonder how long they kept it rolling.

Well, that's the parents' fault for not educating them (I do wonder how that one girl knew about casettes, but not a floppy disk). They did show an investigative spirit and tried to figure things out (and did in some cases), so not all is lost.
 
have those 8 tracks been sold in europe? i only know them from TV, never seen one IRL
