PeerGuardian 2 is Methlabs? premier IP blocker for Windows. With features like support for multiple lists, a list editor, automatic updates, and blocking all of IPv4 (TCP, UDP, ICMP, etc), PeerGuardian 2 is the safest and easiest way to protect your privacy on P2P. Plus, by integrating with Blocklist.org, lists are built custom just for you.

Supposadly it blocks IP's of companies that are cracking down on illegal downloads, and giving you a sense of privacy, as bahnstormer said. I used the first one and it did have alot of IP blocks, but then again you get it saying it blocks NASA, China Lake Naval Facility, even the Flight Test Center...and that's on this base...and Italian police, Microsoft Update manager, and other strange things. Sucks up ALOT of CPU usage also..but If I am getting something off of eMule or torrent and I am gonna be sleeping for the night, I usually put it up to work along side my Zone Alarm Pro & Norton Internet Security.

Firewalls (like PeerGuardian) don't really work to prevent you from being caught sharing stuff. The only safeguard against getting caught is to not do it.

I don't file share anymore, I stopped after I ran out of HDD space and my friend got a warning from the MPAA.

ATM, they're having some problems with their employees, well, trying to take over the company sort of :p
