Got back in touch recently with a guy I worked with several years ago. Back then he suggested I join him on his annual trip to Santa Pod, the home of British drag racing, but we never got around to organising anything.

Last weekend however things got sorted so I took him and Junior Menace up there for my first ever experience of proper drag racing. I realise it's probably a bit tame compared to what our US members may have experienced but we had a good time.

Oh, and Matt2000 came too.

Here is Fifth Gear's Johnny Smith in his souped up Enfield electric car, the Flux Capacitor....

Rest of the album here - not my best shots but dragsters are fucking tricky things to shoot!

Great shots, Matt! Looked like a fun day of racing.

That Bentley seems so out of place.
Yet the blue Mercedes looks so right!

It looks to be a funny car. I don't think it's really a Bentley at all.
Actually, it's regular car with chassis work. I'm guessing a "back-half" car. I.E. the rear floor and trunk floor is cut away, then a drag racing suspension (most likely a 4-link) installed.

On this site if you put the registration number in, it shows a 2004 Bentley.
