Today was our annual Employee show (past years: 2015 - 2014 part 1 - 2014 part 2 - 2013). It was reduced in size due to parking lot availability this year, so they limited to the theme only - which was Ford Trucks (probably to celebrate the new Super Duty). I was tied up with other stuff and by the time I got there the show was wrapping up and people were heading out so I did a quick sweep to see as much as possible. Some pretty cool stuff made it out this year

Some nice trucks there. Thanks for the pics.

That Ranger is nothing special, I see them on the street all the time :p

Very nice photos, thanks for sharing!

I like these. There are other cool ones in that lot to be sure, but those two are just cool.

Sometime next year, I'll try to attend (on your ticket) with some weird, cut-rate 70s Euro Ford. Maybe an Mk2 Escort. Or an late Mk2 Granada. Something never intended and not suited for the US market.

...and you decided to start off with this?

What's the story on the Euro Ranger?

I'm not actually sure. It is a production unit, and an interesting Ford truck (to Americans), so the program team probably decided to park one on the lawn. No clue about all those accessories.

That sounds awesome! I'm sure we can arrange something, thought I'd need to know as early as possible. Due to the campus renovation, I have a feeling we'll be seeing a similar crunch on space for the next few years, though I can always shoot an email to the show organizer to make a non-theme exception if it came from thousands of miles away.

I'm assuming this is a hypothetical for an Adrian style roadtrip?

It was the first thing I saw when I got there.

I can't wait for the new Ranger to appear. If I can I may get rid of the Frontier for one.

Planning is below stage zero right now. The idea is to basically but a beater Ford over here (from one of my Hecktrieb friends, most likely), ship it to New York, maybe drive it to Dearborn, definitly drive it to Mo-Kan and then see where I/it ends. I know my girl has no interest whatsoever in that kind of adventure, but I think I can talk one of my wrenching buddies into joining. It also depends on my year-end bonus and how much of it I dump into Lucille's engine.

They are nice, especially in that orange/copper colour Ford does now, they seem to be selling well over here (as good as a truck will ever sell over here), they look good, well built, and you can finally get them with some HP.....

If they were not so expensive for a compact truck (just 5-10k below actually importing a V8 full size) I would consider one....

Also, this:

That, that is just sexy, take that, put it in a container and send it to me, I will handle the legal things on this end.....

I'll take that 78/79 F250 crewcab.

Yes, that is definitely such badassery. I pretty much liked any of the F100's and F150/250's in those images. The Lightnings were pretty cool as is the Euro Ranger.

The winner for me though is this:

May I suggest, and I understand that this trip right now is purely hypothetical, that you double back on the Detroit area for the Woodward Dream Cruise. A Euro-spec Ford beater that never had any intention to cruise American roads would be very popular at the world's biggest single day car show. I wouldn't be surprised if you got offers to buy it off you during the cruise.

If you're thinking about possibly driving down to Florida, there's a big car show/swap meet in the infield area of Daytona Motor Speedway the week of Thanksgiving called the Turkey Run.
