Anyone besides me and Viper doing this? With everything else that's discussed on this forum, I was surprised to find out this missing. Are people really that paranoid when it comes to their location being known?

Pretty much.

I only use it when I travel though. I rarely check in anywhere in town unless it's a bar or something where I wouldn't mind seeing more friends show up.

I finally figured out that you have to link it to your twitter account to give yourself a username. I'm https://foursquare.com/packetcollision now.
