The Altea FR - "formula racing" - is to go on sale early next year. This hotted-up version of Seat's compact MPV isn't quite a road-going track car, but it does have the new VW Group 170bhp 2.0-llitre diesel engine (also to feature in the Golf GT), good for 0-60mph in 8.6 seconds and 46.3mpg, plus suitably sporty bumpers, 18-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon adaptive headlights, silver trim and chromed twin exhaust pipes, as well as somewhat lurid "FR" graphics. The silver trim theme continues to the interior, along with leather-upholstered seats (four separate sports units in the show car) and embroidered FR logos, also seen on the FR-specific dials, gear knob and steering wheel.

Seat was also promoting the recently-launched Leon hatchback range, just going on sale in many European countries, revised versions of the Alhambra MPV with the 140bhp 2.0 TDI diesel engine (replacing the 130bhp 1.9 TDI) and the 1.4 TDI (70bhp and 80 bhp) which replace the 1,9 SDI and 75bhp 1.9 TDI units in the Ibiza and Cordoba ranges.
