Picked up by the Eizbaer, we hit traffic:
It's okay, I have a carrot!
The traffic freed up:
Made it:
Moving the swift out of the way to get to the E30:
Alternator work bench:
After some hammering, pulling, cutting and crushing we found the cause of the issue:
The E30 on the stands so we can look at the bushings in the rear:
Off to the shops to get some food for the evening in this awesome car!
I got to drive on the way back, I think Beni needs to clean the windows a bit!
Waiting for the waitress to come around, sadly it didn't happen.
It's Grillin' time:
Halo of the gods
Back to the workshop to checkout the linkage of the Zastava's gearbox:
We were trying to think of a few things to do after pulling the alternator out of the E30 and trying to fix the gear linkage in the Zastava.
Engine swap on the Zastava, suggested Beni? Why not, let's do this!
It begins!
"What have we just started?" Thinks Beni.
Well, let'S get stuck in! - The bonnet provides a perfect place to hang the light!
Kind of a "before" shot:
"Maybe starting this was a bad idea..." Thinks Eizbaer
Pulling some metal parts off underneath the car
I'm from New Zealand where bad ideas are good!
Adding the safety braces to the engine hoist point!
Putting some tension on it so we can undo the mounts
While I was working under the car, Beni pulled something off the engine above which was full of coolant or holding coolant in ... And, well, he got me.
Undoing some engine mounts
After some hours of trying to seperate the gearbox from the engine we went to bed to attack it the next morning.
Morning, sunshine!
Just lift it!
A fresh (ish) look at everything:
I hope we're nearly there face:
After some cheering as the gearbox popped off and the engine roamed free, we realised there was still a fuel line connected, so here we are disconnecting it:
Everything is aweeeeeeeeesome!!!
Satisfied
Derp-happy-face:
We did it!
There are no photos of us removing the gearbox but here it is hanging from the rig:
Kart motor:
This is where we left it, as the oil was still draining from the gearbox and all the heavy work was done:
Time for some Sugar and Sun:
