Go to Torrents only? - UPDATE: I'll use both

torrents would be fine for me too. i'm on a very fast university connection that'll let me download very quickly and seed at upwards of 400kbps for you :D

I'm not into Torrents myself and i don't think my firewall likes them either.. but having both solutions sounds good to me...

The one who wants the 5th gear epi of the rx-8 I have it...you can do a search on kazaa for "Fifth Gear - 2003.11.24" or PM me and we can try a AIM file trans. I'm on cable so I can do about 45Kb/s up. Torrents are cool.

im not fond of torrents but here are 2 suggestions.

how bout making a poll to see votes on either system OR make the vid available for torrent half the week then http the other half, they go up sun, mon (top gear + 5th gear) then for 3 days can be downloaded via torrent then the next 3 via http.

hope that helps, http all the way for me, its fast and easy and dont need firewalls.

Hi You are the only way i get to see top gear and Fifth gear since i live in the states. I love these two shows. Please what ever you choose make sure that people will still be able to watch it. I do not know if my computer is able to watch the videos with out HTTP. Thanks for all your hard work bringing this great show to hundredes of people around the world. Thanks

well if need be i'm sure some distributed trackers could be figured out. i know i could spare some of my DSL link (80k upstream) from time to time. considering this is for a good cause, i could see this being a worthwhile community venture.

definitely, i have an ftp that can be used to get ppl old episodes missed.
this forum is gonna be a great place.

You rule Viper007Bond! :)

If I was forced to watch only two shows for the rest of my life, and I had a choice, it would definitely be Top Gear and Fifth Gear.

One problem I have had with torrents (using a slow connection) is that (at least for me), they almost never finish.
They get stuck at 95-99% or so. :(

Any way to get the files is good, but I guess I'd have to get some information if there's another way than http or ftp .
What I'd really like to see is the Fifth Gear episode with the RX-8, but I guess I'll find it sometime in the future.

Well I have it.. and I downloaded it from here.. but the link may be down now..

It might be a good idea to first put the vid on a torrent for a week then share it via http, so http doesn't get to hammered straight away..

GRR! I'll have to wait a whole week! :p Anyway it sounds like a good idea :)

imo

imo

If you can seed the torrent on a fast server, I personally think it would work out great. HTTP mirrors are always nice but if I can get access to more shows because of bittorrent I'd prefer that. :D

I'm new here and a big fan of both Fifth Gear and Top Gear. :D

I tend to think Torrent's probably the best idea as long as u can get ppl to seeded once they are done but that's kinda hard to enforce :(
I know i will stay on to help eventho i'm on crappy cable. :)
