No 56k: Holyfuckingshit! Pineapples! [FG Roadtrip 2015 - Finland/Norway Edition] Photo Thread

Test run with Hyperlapse from Lofoten. For some reason the editor killed the video quality while joining the clips (dashcam takes 5min clips), so I'll try again later, but you can enjoy those misty mountains with a bit of added grain for now..

Those last bits with the "open" tunnels were straight out of Ridge Racer, loved them.

Have some photos finished finally. Picked about 50 from over 1000, as I had to learn the hard way about how difficult it can be to take photos from a bouncy van going twice the speed limit with a maniac behind the wheel.

Excuse the silly watermark, simple theft prevention for Flickr. In non-chronological order:

Now THAT is a proper touring sportscar.

50 out of 1000 seems about the right choice :)

Ah, it's like voting really: you invite 50 thousandmillion peepz just cause you need 20 to vote for you correct right fair.

I have realized why I was sitting in a puddle of water every time it rained, the problem wasn't the lack of a roof, but the lack of a door!
Siwwy finn, where did ya expect all the air from rear wings go? :p

Anyway,
that's a good custom bodykit for a repair-on-teh-fly. Slipstream too

Respect for analogue dash

Is that a donation box, or "lost on the way here" monument?

Jennsah! <3

Since I started the thread, I suppose I should come back and do a proper photo post...

Day 1:

After meeting everyone, going to the Sportscar breakfast, and visiting Thujalvi, we went for a drive.
That is where I'll start with the pictures.

Galantti and the Swift would both suffer catastrophic failures later in the day

Some of us get sidetracked from the main group

Grilling at DaBoom's

Day 2:

Nothing unusual here

Scenic Stop

Waiting for a ferry - what would be the first of many..

That's not gone well

Day 3:

The wounded Saab

Leaving Public and BroTan's parents' cottage (minus the Saab and 1er)

Convoy!

Ristij?rvi Camping

Grilling in a glass hut with this happening behind us

Day 4:

The early group (those of us who also took the correct route, stop for lunch

And to take some photos

Koli National Park

Inari. Our overnight location.

Relaxing with friends (before being told by the owner to move out of the way)

Not a bad view, but I think we can do better...

Coming soon...Part 2!
Day 5: Roadtrip crosses the border to Norway!

If you read through the thread thinking that all these photos have too much colour, are too well focused and detailed, then I have good news.

Developed one of two rolls from the analog camera I had with me, here's a couple of snaps from it:

At Koli

Glass grilling cabin @ Ristij?rven pirtti

Dave was playing with the camera

Adrian in the spotlight, Dave's photo again

Sunset at Ristij?rven pirtti

Misrabelle and DaHitch on the lake

Public taking a photo of Eye-Q at Nordkapp

Happy DaHitch at Nordkapp

Group photo at Nordkapp (damn it, Fairlady!)

Playing with their favorite toys

Om nom nom (the spots were disturbingly red IRL :p)

Norway

More Norway

Even more Norway

Waiting for the ferry

Most of these are set to private, but you can see the whole album with this guest link: https://www.flickr.com/gp/mxm000/N8QYm2

Couple of the pictures are simply awesome, with so much feeling it cannot be copied with a photoshopped modern digital thing.

Thanks :)

B&W works better for certain shots more than others, although I can't really put my finger on it. B&W from film especially, grain either adds atmosphere or gets annoying. I think part of its appeal for me is that we had digital long enough to make film look "strange". Gives a different perspective on the same scene.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to MXM again.

Very nice pics MXM, some close up face shot are not that pretty with that grain, but overall i like B&W more than color.

Also, if i could, i'd give extra rep for the analog touch. <3

Some more. Sooooo done with this.

Thanks for a good trip, y'all. :3

Finished the second roll now, and it had a few more shots from the trip.

Roadtripping

The View (tm)

This was very overexposed, so it didn't turn out that great

The View (tm), again

Hellesylt

Part 2 of my photos

Day 5 we hit Norway

Spot the Finn

Scenery wasn't bad

Important discussions

Heading for Nordkapp, kinda surreal..

DaBoom climbing things again

With special permission arranged by Adrian we drove up to the monument for photos.

Back to the visitors centre for full group shots

View from our cabin

Eye-Q and DaBoom decided to go for a swim nearby, so I tagged along to record the event (by request) for stupidity

It was quite a pretty little spot, even before sunset happened

Back at camp

More from me to come later...

I know there were others who took photos too, they're being very slack in not posting here...

Did the group shot by the random biker dude not work out? I remember it being taken twice.
