I like poop-colored cars!

You're not talking sidemarkers, you're talking simple indicators that some cars have in their fenders. Thats something not related and not mandatory by any law. Those things shown there are effectively a US-thing that ruins way too many cars or at least us-models. BMWs are fitted with those ugly things too. In germany that kind of sidemarkers is not required on normal cars, at least not on something thats smaller than a Pullmann.

The car in question, a 1989 Citroen 2CV6 Special by Hermes was refitted for the 2008 Paris Motor Show.

Is it bad that I recognized it as a 2CV from this picture?

That 2CV rocks.

Also, this was the coolest support vehicle at F1 that wasn't the Merc wagon or the SLS:

And let's admit it: it F1's Merc wagon and SLS were in fabulous metallic chocolate brown, they'd be 110% MORE AWESOME.

I've owned a couple of brown cars in the past. My first car was a 1975 Ford Granada coup?, like this one:

The other was a 1977 Pontiac Firebird Esprit in Brentwood Brown, like this:

(Except my car didn't have a rear spoiler.)

To me. the brown worked on those cars. Not too sure about modern cars, though.

I was just thinking about a car one of my older cousins used to own.

She had a brown 1973 Mk1 Capri with a black vinyl roof and a 2L 4 cylinder and a 4 speed gearbox.

It also had the Rostyle wheels, IIRC. Like this one, except it had four round headlamps instead of the rectangular European ones.

I loved that car. And I would love to own a Mk1 Capri to this day.

(You might say it's "The car I always promised myself," but that'd be corny.)
