This looks fucking fantastic. This is how a modern prototype should look like.

It is gorgeous. I expect the Cadillac to look not as good, and who knows about the Nissan aside from the fact IMSA told them they had to redo their bodywork as it wasn't styled enough for their liking.

Can't wait to see them in the flesh at Daytona.

where can this thing race? Le mans in LMP2 class?
As a Daytona Prototype International chassis, the Mazda can run in LMP2 in the WEC, but is not eligible to run in Le Mans due to the inability of the ACO and IMSA to come to an agreement.

No.

As it sits, it can only run in IMSA competition. For it to be able to race in the WEC as a P2 car, it would need to swap the engine out for the ACO standard Gibson V8, and remove the bodywork and put on the standard Riley-Multimatic bodywork. IMSA DPi's can ONLY race in IMSA races. The ACO decided to back off on everything after initially saying they'd be able to.

...because the 4 base chassis used are the same ones used in every other series running to ACO rules?
thats all fine, but if the cars will not be used outside of IMSA it's kinda hard to legitimize word "international"
anyway, the cars look great, its a shame we won't see them in Europe.

i don't think a series is labeled national or international based on where the cars can be used
it's based on who's eligible to participate.
if it's only local teams, it's national, if everyone can come over and participate, it's international
