Hey all,

I am in search for an application that will output a video stream when the ipod is not in video mode, but when I am listening to music. I currently use my ipod 99% of the time in my car. I have it hooked up to my DVD player and use it to watch top gear while I'm sitting in the car waiting for someone...

The ipod will only output video when you're watching a video but I would like to have video output of the screen when I am listening to music that would show up on the dvd player's screen.

Anyone know of an application that will do this or if one even exist?

Thanks for any help.

What kind of iPod?

The only way I can see doing that is if it supports file system access (I think all but the Touch do) and you get a computer or something to playback the file off your iPod. Basically treat it as a portable hard drive. The iPod itself cannot play back two things at once though (music + video).

sorry, should have mentioned it's an iPod classic, the newest one.

basically, i want it to ouput this screen to my dvd player.

It should be able to output both, thats what it does when you play videos.

Oh, well that's totally different than playing video and audio. :p

Anyway, there's nothing to configure (minus options on the iPod and your car). It'll either do it or it won't. There's no way to change what it does.
