Enjoyed the film as a continuation from CR, which was way too complicated IMO. They kept with one story and made it last. The theme music grows on you, but I don't think it's as good as the CR theme song, which I can't stop playing.
I've also finally accepted Daniel Craig as Bond (I hated him and wanted PB back when Casino came out, which is why I refused to watch it), and he's very good at it.
Fairly disappointed with the cars in the movie. You can tell that Ford are stumping up cash for it, because every new, shiny car is made by Ford or companies it owns/used to own. Land Rover, Jaguar and Volvo all appear, along with lots of Hydrogen SUVs with suspiciously Cayenne-like rear lights.
Anyhoo in Casino there was very little in the way of car a car chase or gadgets (a defibrillator?), but he did at least drive a DB5 for a while. No such luck this time around, all you see of the DBS is the short chase before the titles where he has
zero gadgets in his car. Actually, I don't remember seeing
any Bond gadgets throughout the entire movie, not even his sone-nav phone. It might crop up once, but just as a camera.
A good thing about it was the length. At 160 minutes, Casino was faaaaar too long. It felt like two movies together, and it's not one I'll be in a rush to watch again. I will think about getting this on DVD though when it does come out, much more watchable.
Verdict: I enjoyed it, worth the ?8. Some funny moments in there too which lightened it up a bit.
