Michael Schumacher in critical condition after head trauma

Over 20 years of professional racing with a broken leg as the worst injury, and now this. :(

Best wishes to Mr. Schumacher.

You're gonna win, Schumi. For the 92nd time, you will win. :)

Not even three hours ago I read about him having a non-life threatening head injury and now I come to find out he's in a coma. :(

Yeah, me too. The BBC were just quoting the resort management spokesman, not the medics at the Hospital.

Get well soon Michael.

Supposedly a specialist and friend of Michael was flown from Paris to assist with the surgery.

Hopefully you should find some comfort in it being an induced coma. The treatment will involve a lot of tubes and what not, hence the need for heavy sedation.
I have no doubt Michael is getting the best medical care possible right now. I really hope for the best.

The coma sadly wasn't induced. He fell into a coma by himself, before he even arrived at Grenoble. According to German media, he has undergone emergency brain surgery, but is in critical, life-threatening condition right now.

As with all these things, conflicting reports abound.

My thoughts and prayers are with Michael and the Schumacher family. The man's always been a fighter and that means a lot in situations like this.

even ross brawn flew to france :?

Really hope he pulls through. Whether you supported him or not during his career nobody can deny he was a true champion and probably one of the greatest drivers ever.

Everything crossed he makes a full and speedy recovery.

According to German news channel Phoenix he underwent second brain surgery in the night. Press conference of the docs is expected in 15 mins. Ross Brawn and Jean Todt at his bedside since last night. Sounds scary as fuck.

tuned into the press conference a few minutes late, but I did hear them say at the moment there wasn't a need for a second surgery, so seems those reports over night were just rumours. there isn't much more they're saying other than taking it hour by hour at the moment.
